Chapter 5

Rui's Pov

There it goes again, the ring of the bell that will forever haunt me until I get out of school and contribute to society.

I rest my hand on my palm as I stare out the window alone. 

My thoughts wander back to my day with Taehyung a few days ago when he didn't let me go through that door in his art studio.

'What could've been behind that door?...' I wondered until the classroom door slammed open, making me jump.

"Tsk...you can't be serious..." I mumbled as I put my head down to hide my face.

During these past few days ever since I've talked to who everyone called Jooyoung, he has been bothering me constantly and always did anything to get my attention for his amusement. 

If you count announcing to everyone at lunch that we're dating and spreading rumors that will make everyone target Taehyung? You got it.

Today I came extra early than before just to avoid him.

I talked to Taehyung about this issue during my after-school visits to his place and he came up with an idea, but he wouldn't tell me until tomorrow which was today.

"Wakey wakey senorita you can't sleep today on my first day!" My eyes shot wide open at the loud voice.

This wasn't Jooyoung's voice.

I brought my head up to see six of Taehyung's bodyguards in... school uniforms?

Taehyung's head popped out from behind them, "H-Hi Rui."

"Sorry if I scared you, you're awake now though right?" one of them laughed.

"You shouldn't have shouted like that Hoseok, you scared her!" 

"I was trying to lighten the mood Jin," Hoseok argued back.

I looked at each of their name tags and there were Jin, Namjoon, Yoongi, Hoseok, Jimin, and Jungkook.

"So why are you guys here again?" I asked as all of them surrounded my desk all at once.

"Taehyung told us what happened and we agreed to attend this school until we all graduate." Jin smiled down at me, making me smile back.

"We all went to different schools before because we lived in different places, but now that Taehyung allows us to stay in his mansion, we're able to attend this one without any problem now." Jungkook scratched the back of his head.

"All in one night, huh..." I looked at Taehyung who quivered his lips before looking elsewhere in the class to avoid my gaze. 

Before I could utter another word, the students entered filling up the rest of the space in the classroom. 

"Let's get to our seats," Jin told the other guys before settling in the desks that surround me and Taehyung.

"They're here to protect us. You don't have to worry anymore." Taehyung reassured me, making me nod before we both turned our attention toward the teacher.

"It's such a nice day out guys, we should go eat out instead of eating in the cafeteria," Yoongi suggested.

"Since when did you want to eat out?" Jungkook asked.

"No reason."

We were all walking to the cafeteria to get our food before settling at the table where Taehyung and I would usually sit.

As we walked past everyone who gave us stares, I could hear them whispering, "When did Taehyung gain so many friends?"

"Oh my gosh if only I could date them, I'd take the chance anytime!"

'Ugh...' I thought.

'Probably gonna use me and Taehyung someday just to get close to these guys,' I shook my head.

"R-Rui..." Taehyung said as we all sat down.

"Yes, Tae?"

"W-Would you like to g-go to the m-movies with-" 

"She's not going to go on a date with anyone."  

Taehyung was cut off from someone's presence.

I turned my back around to meet the eyes with whom I despised the most, Jooyoung.

He came walking with his friends and they all gave us mocking grins. 

"You're not here to tell me what to do and what not to do." I glared at him.

"Does it matter anymore? I'll be your boyfriend sooner or later."

I stood up and came close to his face, "I never agreed to any of your delusional fantasies, so keep on dreaming." I gritted my teeth.

"Suit yourself." He wafted me away.

"And you!" He pointed to Taehyung.

"I don't like how you're always trying to get in my way of things. You're taking her away and now I'll take her from you." 

Jooyoung was about to walk away with him grabbing my arm harshly until Jimin and Jungkook's hands landed on both of his shoulders, preventing him from moving, "She's not going anywhere with you."

"Rui told us you're a black belt in Taekwondo recently, is that true rookie?"

Jooyoung turned around, "Tch, why? You want me to beat you to one rookie?"

Jungkook chuckled, "As far as I know, I got my black belt way before you did and so did this guy here."

"You only got yours a few weeks ago and here you are bragging about it to everyone so you can make yourself more intimidating. How funny."

The boys gave out a small laugh while I tried to keep mine from coming out. Taehyung was laughing loud as he clapped both of his hands.

"Give her to us or get sent to the office, rookie," Jimin said.

They motioned for Taehyung to come and get me and he stood up proudly. Before he could get to me, Jooyoung suddenly took Taehyung's arm, attempting to twist it.

"Goddamn it I didn't even get to eat my fried chicken yet!" Jin slammed both of his hands on the table angrily, drawing attention from the students.

The tension was suffocating with the sudden silence that quickly filled the cafeteria from Jin's wrath.

"You decided to mess with us at the wrong time when I should be eating right now, kiddo." 

The boys stood up to surround Jooyoung and his friends until Jooyoung surrendered almost immediately from how scary the boys looked.

"You can take him back," Jooyoung spat as he pushed Taehyung hard to the floor but before he could reach it, I quickly caught him just in time.

"And you," he said as he looked at me, "I'm coming back for you. You just sit back and wait."

He and his group finally left us and I gave a loud sigh, "Can't this get any better?" I sarcastically let out while we all adjusted ourselves back into our seats.

"The idiot just had to come and ruin my appetite," Jin grunted before shoving a piece of chicken in his mouth.

"And Jungkook," I said getting his attention, "Where did you get that sassy mouth of yours? That was a good comeback you gave to Jooyoung a while ago," I laughed.

"Beats me. I got it from Jin." He smiled proudly while Jin gave me a wink before going back to eating.

"Taehyung, are you alright? Does your arm hurt?" I asked while checking his shoulder.

"I-I'm fine now," he assured me.

"That's good, tell me if it hurts later on okay?" I told him and he nodded.

"And of course, I would love to go to the movies with you," I whispered.

"Count me in too! Ow-"

"Not you, you idiot," Jin said to Namjoon who was rubbing his head from the loud smack he received.
