I walked into work this morning feeling less tired than usual. I had gone to sleep immediately when I got home. I was walking up to House's office when I got paged to Cuddy's office. I'm pretty sure I knew what this was about, I injected Hannah with morphine last night to stop her suffering and let her pass on peacefully. I walked downstairs and walked into Cuddy's office.

"Dr. King" She said

"You umm, paged me" I said nervous

"Yes, I was looking through the patient files from yesterday and it says that you injected Hannah Sheffron with morphine"

"I did"

"You do realize the legal problems you've just created for yourself and this hospital"

"I do but I don't regret what I did, Hannah had a fat embolism and was going to die a slow painful death if I didn't inject her with that morphine"

"Okay then, I'll get our lawyer. You can go back to work" she said calmly

"Wait, So you're not mad?" I said confused

"You did what you thought was right I also knew this kind of stuff would happen with House's team so I put away fifty thousand dollars a year for legal fees. So far you guys have come in under budget" she replied

"Thanks Cuddy" I said and walked out.
I went back upstairs and walked into the office. In there was Chase, Wilson, Foreman, Taub and House. I took my seat next to Wilson and smiled at him. I was upset our date got cut short but I'm sure we would be doing it again. House noticed me sit down next to Wilson. He stared at us for a minute than finally spoke up.

"Wilson and King sitting in a tree" he sang

"House, grow up" said Taub annoyed, he was probably pissed at House for not getting any cases today.

"I think I found us a case" said Foreman

We all looked at him ready to hear

"16 year old burn victim" he started

"Burn unit can handle it"said House

"If they could handle it, they wouldn't be asking for you." He said

I grabbed the file and took a look at it

"We can't treat him, The kids heart rate's a mess." I said

"Tachycardia can be explained by the burn." Replied Foreman

"I assume the burn unit knew that." House said as he stood up

"His potassium's low." Said Chase

"Which can also be explained by the burn." Said Taub

House stopped

"Wait a second, I'm sure the burn unit's pumping him with fluids, which means his potassium should be going up, not down." He said

"Could be amphetamines." Said Wilson

"Or a bacteria lunching on his heart; or cardiomyopathy or some other very bad thing" Said House

"very bad thing, what a professional way to put it" I said

"I know right, but he still needs an EKG so let's go check him out" replied House as he walked out the door, we followed.

We walked up the steps to the observatory platform and looked into the room where Adam (the patient) is sedated. He had lost over 40% of skin to the fire. We could see all the burns all over his chest and torso. It wasn't a pretty sight

"Eww, ok well no skin so I'm guessing no EKG." Said House

"Is he even going to survive the burn?" Asked Chase
