"We're going to need an x-Ray scan, stat!"

The voice sounded far away and dulled, as if it was under water. Jace didn't recognise it at all, wondering how and why it was so close to him, who it was, and why it sounded as though they were running.

He tried pry his eyes open to look, but he noticed with mild concern that his eyelids felt incredibly heavy as he willed them to open.
His heart stopped when he realised he couldn't, getting even more terrified at the fact he couldn't make any facial expression at all.

"Get him a secure room, heart monitor- We need that scan people!!" The voice shouted again.

He panicked, realising he couldn't do anything except for listen to his own possible fatal condition.

"Internal bleeding? What could have caused him to collapse?" Another voice responded quickly from Jace's left.

He was moving fast, and he realised he was already on a hospital bed as it took a sharp corner, thundering down the hall.

"No idea, maybe an untreated concussion... has he moved since arriving?"

Jace silenced his thoughts to hear the response, his lungs failing to suck in a breath.

"No. He hasn't."

Jace's stomach dropped, almost hyperventilating as the bed took a final turn and slowed down, brushing against what Jace assumed to be a door frame before he stopped completely.

He internally winced as he felt needles being pushed into his skin, listening to the sound of people bustling around him as he was hooked up to the machines.

He was petrified, his stomach sinking further and further, lower and lower until he thought he might throw up from the fear he felt; except, he couldn't do anything.

He couldn't shout for help, he couldn't tell them his mind was active and he could hear everything that was going on, he couldn't even twitch his fingers... he knew he was in a coma.

But he didn't know how he would get out of it.

Clary couldn't help but feel the dreadful sense of deja vu as she wound herself back at the hospital once again, walking quickly towards the front desk.

She gulped as past memories flooded through her mind, causing a pool of worry to stir in her stomach.

She glanced back at Isabelle and Tessa, making sure the other girls were okay as she stopped in front of the reception desk. She knew Isabelle wouldn't be talking any time soon, as she hadn't said much since she found Jace in his unconscious state.

And as she continued on to look at Tessa,  she couldn't help but notice the pained expression on the girls face.

The sight of them both made Clary's heart lurch as she tuned back in to see the receptionist looking at her expectantly, waiting for her to talk.

Clary breathed in a deep breath through her nose, before saying; "We're here for Jace Herondale... he was brought in by an ambulance not too long ago." Her voice quavered a bit, and she tried not to cry as the nurse shot her a sympathetic look.

"Are you a family member?" She asked as she typed up Jace's information on the computer.

Clary gulped, shaking her head. "Uh, no. I-I'm his girlfriend... This is his sister." She said, indicating towards Isabelle.

"I'm sorry dear, we can only allow family members to see him at the moment." The nurse apologised, pressing her lips together as she looked at her sadly.

"-But his room is 121. Follow the signs along the walls and it should be upstairs to the left." She continued to Isabelle only, before splaying a hand towards the waiting chairs behind them. "You two can sit there if you like, there are beverage machines around if you need anything to calm down... I'm more than happy to help." She finished, smiling welcomingly to Tessa and Clary.

Clary nodded slowly, returning the smile before linking arms with Tessa and going towards the chairs.

She looked over her shoulder at Isabelle, only to find the girl doing the same. She smiled at Isabelle once more encouragingly before sitting down next to Tessa.

Tessa was taking deep breaths, clutching her stomach with both hands. Her fingers were splayed against it, as if she was holding it to her body.

Clary turned to look at her worriedly, taking a hold of her elbow softly. "Tess? Are you okay? Is it the baby?" She whispered, steadying her hold on Tessa's arm when the girl didn't reply.

Tessa shook her head, screwing her eyes shut as a low groan escaped her throat.
Her forehead was beaded in sweat, hands white as they clutched at her stomach.

She was panting now, and Clary's eyes widened in shock as she realised with a jolt that Tessa was going into labour.

"Help!" She shouted, turning around to the direction of the receptionist. "She's going into labour!"

The few people near them made room for Tessa as Clary struggled to help her stand up.

She watched as the receptionist quickly grab the attention of a nearby nurse. The nurse took one glance at Tessa and then was speeding away, causing Clary to panic as she looked back to see Tessa holding the base of her stomach painfully.

"Tell her to breathe!" Someone shouted, and Clary scrambled to put a hand on Tessa's back, coaxing her to relax as the nurse returned brandishing a wheelchair.

Another nurse in blue scrubs appeared, quickly taking care of the situation and guiding Tessa into the wheelchair.

"Tess?! What do I do! Should I call Will?!" Clary shouted as more nurses seemed to form a barricade around her.

"Yes! Yes, Clary please! I'm-" Tessa groaned as another wave of pain hit her, causing her to clutch at her stomach.

"We need to get her a bed. She's going into labour, right now." The nurse stated quickly, already wheeling her away.

Clary watched hopelessly as Tessa was taken in an opposite direction as to where Isabelle went- where Jace was.

She stood alone in the middle of the hospital, head and heart torn as each side was mentally pulling and clawing at her.

And as she looked between the two, she didn't know which one she would pick.

The delay of this chapter is a sin.

Schools annoying, people are smelly and try stir drama at every corner... trying not to let that energy show in my writing is proving to be challenging smh.
