I lied, the big thing is in the next chapter hehe

(Y/N POV)

It can't be real.

Peter's birthday was tomorrow, and I was almost certain we wouldn't make it back to the tower before then.

I suppose I'll have to get him something else, and then show him the room later.

"I'm going to find Okoye," I lied, getting up from the bed, "just wait here in case."

"In case of what?" Peter asked.

"In case T'challa needs us."

"Right, I'll just sleep then."

I smiled, and scuttled out of the room. The Palace was enormous, the glass windows displaying a view of the city. If only New York looked as beautiful. I wandered down the corridors, unsure of what I was looking for, until I smack straight into someone.

"I'm so sorry!" I said, helping them up, "are you okay?"

The person, who looked like a girl, was wearing a huge helmet over thier head. A helmet without a visor. Makes sense why we crashed into each other, I wasn't paying attention, and she couldn't see.

"I'm alright," the girl said, popping the helmet off of her head.

She was pretty, her Wakandan accent stronger than most of the people I heard speaking around. She wore a conch shell choker, and a loose t-shirt. Her black hair was swept neatly into space buns, and she had a huge grin on her face.

"Oh!" she exclaimed when she looked at me, "you must be the Stark!"

"Yeah.. and you are?"

"I'm Shuri," she said.

I couldn't help but notice the way her face fell when she figured out who I was. She hid it well, but she obviously knew something about me that I didn't. I felt on edge, my heart beat speeding up in anxiousness.

"Nice to meet you," I said, fumbling my fingers.

"Where are you going?"

"It's my boyfriend's birthday tomorrow, and I forgot his gift at home. I was hoping I'd be able to find a store somewhere around the city, but Okoye told me not to-"

"Peter Parker," she said bluntly.

"What?"

"Your boyfriend, right?"

"Uh, yeah," I said, rubbing the back of my head, "him."

"Anyways, there's a gift shop at the end of the hallway," she said, "I can take you!"

"Really?"

"Yeah! I'm glad I ran into you, I've been meaning to ask you some questions."

On our way there, she started to throw different theories and inquiries about how Peter came back to life. I learned she was a scientist herself, but mainly focused on weapons and armor. She was supposed to be the one to perform Peter's surgery when we got the vibranium.

"So what is he like?" she asked when we reached the shop.

"A spider?" I said, "oh- you meant that."

"I was thinking more of personality traits, but now I'm intrigued. He's like a Spider?"

"Y-yeah."

"So he has eight legs, and lays eggs. Strange pick for a boyfriend."

"Oh! No, he's not an actual Spider. He just has certain abilities, like Spidey Sense and enhanced strength."

"Interesting, I must examine him more after the surgery."

"Oh okay," I mumbled, my eyes straining to see across the huge store.

I spotted a rack of technology hanging on the other side, and I scrambled over to it. There were phones, radios, speakers, and pretty much anything a tourist would want. Although I'm pretty sure they didn't get many, the museum said they were hidden by an invisible dome.

I picked a video camera off of the wall, and flipped it around to see what it was. It was black and Purple, and the Wakandan symbol was inscribed on the side. It held 10 hours of footage on a single sim card, and had a battery life of 45 hours. I had no clue how they designed it to last that long, but I decided to buy it.

"Good choice," Shuri said, "you can take it."

"I have to pay for it, though."

"It's on me, don't worry about it."

She pushed me out of the store, without hesitation, and we kept walking back to the room. As we made our way down the Palace corridors, I noticed people were watching me. Whispering about me.

"Can I ask you something?" I said.

"Go ahead."

"Why is everyone watching me?"

Shuri's face fell again, and she cleared her throat. I felt extremely uncomfortable at the silence, and held onto the camera tightly.

"It's better if you hear it from my brother," she said, "you must wait."

"Your brother?"

"King T'Challa."

I widened my eyes, and almost choked. This whole time I had been talking to the Princess of Wakanda, and I had no clue. It explained why she was able to leave the store without paying for the camera.

"Woah," I said, bowing my head politely, "I'm sorry I didn't recognize you before."

"It's fine, I liked it better when you didn't."

"Really?"

She nodded her head, and stopped in front of our room. I pressed open the door, and peered inside. Peter was fast asleep on the bed, his arms wrapped around a pillow.

"Is that him?" Shuri said, leaning over to see.

"Yeah, come in."

I slipped the video camera into my suitcase, and watched as she walked in behind me. Peter's face was red with exhaustion, his cheeks puffy. He always looked so sweet when he was sleeping like a baby.

"He's cute," Shuri said, "he doesn't look like a Spider at all."

She poked his cheek with her pointer finger, giggling at how chubby he was. Her watch beeped loudly, and she stepped back suddenly.

"It's time," she said, "T'Challa is ready to see you."
