The team was walking towards the quidditch pitch, ready for our first practice of the season.

"Excited, Harry?" I grinned down at the second year Gryffindor and he nodded, smiling up at me.

I frowned when I heard Wood groan and noticed the Slytherin quidditch team approaching us.

"Bloody hell." I muttered and made my way towards the front of the group, standing next to Wood.

"Where are you going Flint? I've booked the pitch for Gryffindor today." Wood confronted the Slytherin captain.

"Calm down, Wood, I've got a note." Flint grinned, showing us his ugly teeth. He handed Wood the note.

"I, professor Snape, hereby grant the Slytherin quidditch team the permission to practice on the grounds that they need to train their new seeker." Wood read aloud and I rolled my eyes, crossing my arms over my chest, earning dirty looks from Flint.

"You've got a new seeker? Who?" I asked them.

Draco Malfoy stepped forward and I fought the urge to hex him right then and there.

"And that's not the only thing that's new this year." Malfoy smirked and brought our attention to the Nimbus 2001s the whole Slytherin team was sporting.

I frowned and looked over at Wood, who sent a reassuring smile my way.

"Wow, those are Nimbus 2001s, where'd you get those?" Ron Weasley's voice sounded.

"My father bought them, unlike some, he can afford the best." Malfoy commented and I stepped forward, but was held back.

"At least no one on the Gryffindor team had to buy their way in, they got in on pure talent." Hermione Granger smirked and I grinned at her. That's my girl.

"No one asked you, you filthy little mudblood." Draco spat and I broke free from the hand that was holding me back, charging towards Malfoy, already having tossed my broom aside.

"Out of the way, Flint." I threatened as their captain took a step forward to protect their precious new seeker.

"Or what, Thomas?" Flint smirked at me, knowing I wouldn't have my wand on me. Without hesitation, I smirked back, punching him straight in the nose. He staggered backwards, his teammates holding him up.

"Thomas!" Wood exclaimed as I was about to go after Malfoy, who still wore a smug look on his face.

"Enough." Wood said softly, stepping in front of me and grabbing me by my shoulders.

"If I spot you alone, Malfoy, you're done for. Hear me?" I threatened and let Wood lead me back to the rest of the team.

Once the Slytherins were out of earshot, I cursed, grabbing ahold of my hand.

"Merlin, Thomas." Wood sighed, looking down at my bruised hand and I sent him a sheepish smile.

"You shouldn't have done that." He added, ignoring the rest of the team as he suddenly took my good hand and started leading me towards the hospital wing.

I stopped and he looked at me as if I'd gone completely mad. Maybe I had.

"I can't go to the hospital wing. What am I supposed to say when she asks what happened? I can't be thrown of the team, Wood." I shook my head and he just stared at me.

"And I thought I was crazy because of Quidditch." He muttered, approaching me again.

"Alright then, I'll look up some spells and find you a bandage, come on." Wood said, grabbing my hand once again and leading me up the stairs to our common room.
