Time stopped when I saw Voldemort turn to dust. We won. I flung my arms around Draco and laughed for the first time in years. Draco's arms tightened around me and his laughter filled my ears, a sound so beautiful I couldn't get enough of it.

"Y/N." Narcissa's voice made us break apart and I looked over at Draco's mother questioningly. "Thank you for taking care of my boy." She smiled.

"He saved me." I told her and I felt Draco's eyes on me. "He saved me from drowning when no one else even realised I was in the water. He put back the pieces that were breaking apart and he wrapped his arms around me making sure I didn't break any further."

"Y/N-" Draco whispered softly but I didn't break the eye contact I had with his mother.

"I didn't take care of Draco, Mrs Malfoy." I smiled at her, finally looking over at Draco and seeing the frown he was wearing but I smiled at him before turning back to his mother. "He took care of me."

Narcissa stayed quiet, but I noticed the silent tears running down her cheeks as she smiled at me again and then looked at Draco admiringly before disapparating.

"Draco?" I questioned, suddenly feeling unsure if I should have said any of that and when my eyes met his, I noticed he was crying too. "I-"

"I love you." Draco interrupted me. "I love you and I'm going to kiss you so you should move away if you don't want me to."

I chuckled and let him kiss me more passionately than he's ever had the nerve to before. Every unspoken word, unexpressed feeling was poured into this one kiss and I completely gave in.

"I love you too, Draco Malfoy." I grinned when we pulled apart to take a breath.

"You saved me too." Draco whispered, his forehead touching mine. "You were my light in the dark."

"Y/N." I closed my eyes for a second, letting myself enjoy this moment for a bit longer before turning to the source of the voice.

"Harry." I breathed nervously.

"I think we need to talk." Harry said, Hermione and Ron joining his side, and then he looked at Draco. "All of us."

Draco's hand wrapped around mine and I squeezed it softly before nodding at the Gryffindor trio in front of us.

"Let's talk."

We walked out of the Great Hall and into the courtyard, making our way to the grounds where it was quieter. And there we stood in a circle, no one on one particular side as there are no sides to a circle.

"Why?" Harry just asked, looking from Draco to me and I shared a look with Draco before taking a deep breath and telling them everything I've been keeping from them. They stayed quiet the whole time, listening to Draco's side of the story and I watched as their emotions changed from angry to hurt to sympathetic and outright disbelieve.

"I'm sure you hate me after all that's happened." I swallowed. "If you do, it's only fair." I sighed and looked the three of them in the eye. "But I want you to know that every lie, every deception hurt. That it killed me to betray you but it was either betray you or let my mother get killed. There's no way I can justify my actions, but I was always on your side."

"I loved you." Harry breathed out and Draco's grip on my hand tightened.

"I'm sorry." I frowned. "I never meant to lead you on, Harry. You deserve someone better, someone who isn't nearly as ruined as me."

"No, I'm sorry." Harry shook his head. "I should have noticed something was wrong. I should have looked past my jealousy and asked you if you were okay. I should have helped you." Harry sighed and Ron and Hermione looked down at his words, feeling that same guilt. "Thank you." Harry suddenly turned to Draco. "For being there for her when we weren't. For seeing what we couldn't see and doing something about it."
