Chapter 14 : Raid The Village

Audrey's POV

Our conversation ended in a good way, Miss P looked like she had calm herself down. I've never seen Miss P cried since I live here. I still can't believe Uncle M wanted to bring me back.

"I'm afraid he might give you to Caul. Bird knows what will he do to you if you're back in his arms." What Miss P said was true. My suffering may get worse.

'Audrey.'

"Yeah Mr. Shadow?"

'Wanna continue drawing?'

"Sure."

Speaking of drawing, where the hell is my book?

Shit. Don't say I left it outside or accidentally dropped it. Someone could read it, or, or step on it. What if Miss P found it or Miss N or Olive, or The Twins. My secret will be exposed.

I dashed to the tree where I climbed.

Nope not here. I rushed back to the house and search at the floor where my room is.

'Audrey stop! You're having a panic attack!'

"Oh shush it will you? I'm fine"

"Hey Audrey." I turn to the voice.

"Oh. Hey, Enoch"

"Is this yours?" He handed my book.

"Yeah. Thank you." I replied annoyed. Why out of all the peculiar living in here it must be Enoch who found my book?

"Don't think I didn't take a peek in your book" He said teasingly.

I rolled my eyes and go inside my room. I gave him one last glare and my shadow hissed at him.

"Woah. What a one aggresive girl and peculiarity." He scoffed from outside.

I ruffled my hair "shit." I sat at my bed. How am I going to face the others? Sure as hell that Enoch will tell the others. He'll never keep it as a secret. Arghhh... what did I get myself into?

"Hey Mr. Shadow? You got any idea?"

'I have but it might sound stupid'

"I don't care tell me."

"Okay. This is a super stupid idea" I said while resting inside the tree leaves.

'Told you. Now shut up.'

'What if they found out?' I hissed in my mind

'Then we're both dead.'

'Yeah, but mostly me! Miss P had told us not to wander in the garden after seven!'

'Relax.'

Alma's POV

"Children! Dinner time!" I yelled from down the stairs. By the time Nat set the mashed potatoes on the table, all of our wards already filled in the room. We took our seats and I start giving their normal portion of food. Nat help me with giving veggies and drinks.

"I have an announcement to make." Enoch suddenly rose from his seat.

"Enoch. Finish your vegetables atleast." I scold and stare at him.
