Third Person POV
Chaos.
The entire room was chaos.
Three minutes and twenty-seven seconds later, after Leo's moment of weakness, and his confession, the lab was suddenly like an ER on high alert.
Beep...! Beep...! Beep...!
The burgeoning sounds of distressed inquiries and urgent instructions flooded the terrapin's ears too loudly and too quickly.
Among the pounding against his temple and inside of his chest, he found it difficult to focus on just any one thing. Even the simple, terrifying, slowed beeping of the heart monitor.
"Leo! How did this happen? Did you know Karai was doing this to her?! Leo?! Leo!"
"Not now, Raph! She's not stable. Hurry and help me disinfect these medical tools!"
It was all muted in his ears, like he was slowly floating away from the scene. Spinning towards the ground as dread creeped back up into his brain. Maybe he was coming down from his confidence high. Because all he could see was his best friend and adored crush shallowly breathing on her death bed, colored in depressing hues of black and blue and red.
Things were moving fast now that Donnie was nearer to starting her procedure, not that Leo could tell at this moment. But looking ahead at the next few hours, the scientist knew he'd have to anticipate anything that could happen, and be ready now so he could respond immediately. The seriousness of his friend's condition was clear enough to him.
Both unaware of the spiraling their eldest sibling was enduring, Raphael helped as Donnie pulled out various tools from a hospital aid bag, a breathing mask and an IV drip amongst them. "... Where did you get this stuff?"
"Don't ask." Donnie lightly suggested, aware of the telling aid logo on the bag. "Leo, snap out of it! We're ready."
Raphael raised an eye ridge at his purple-sporting brother, but decided not to ask anything else about it, yet. He looked over to the other turtle, while Leo's brain was getting a chance to catch up. Finally, he joined his brothers around the table, doing his best to look at his brothers and keep his gaze away from her.
"You're supposed to be with Mikey." Leo recalls, pulling on some homemade three fingered gloves Donatello tossed to him.
"We need to know what's going on."
"He doesn't. Not right now." Leo retorted quickly, almost glaring at the thought of his littlest brother learning of gruesomeness that's happening to their friend. The need to protect the most innocent in the lair from the horrors of their reality persisted. At least for the time being, it was too soon. "You saw his face when he came in here. You need to be with him."
"I talked to him, he'll be fine. You guys clearly need help..." Raph argued, pointing his eyes towards Y/n, and immediately averting them after.
Leo thought for a moment, unsure whether what he said about Mikey was completely true or not. But there was no question; he and Donnie's hands were already more than full with caring for Y/n. "Okay... thanks."
Beep... beep... beep...
The incessant warnings of the monitor pierced through his concentration, and the slowness of its sounds suddenly caught his attention. "Her heart..." He turned to Donnie. "Isn't that slower than it should be?"
Donatello stares in response to his question, clearly unsure of what he wanted to say to him particularly.
"Donnie... we need to know what's happening to her."
