AHSOKA TANO

Ahsoka heard a cry of pain, and then another. Both were Padmé’s, each followed by a baby’s wail.

She saw Darth Vader, dressed in that strange suit. Now I understand why he was wearing that suit in one of my visions, she thought.

Distorted through the mask, Darth Vader screamed. “NOOOOOOO!”

And then she was falling. I’ve failed. I couldn’t save them, she thought, before darkness closed in.

Ahsoka woke up, with the Darth Vader’s screams echoing in her ears. Eventually, what she thought was screams faded into the beeping noise that she had set to wake her up when the ship was approaching Onderon.

She got up and almost mechanically switched off the autopilot and put it on manual. She was thinking hard about this new piece of the Order 66 puzzle. If Anakin is now Darth Vader, then he’ll come looking for me, she thought. And Padmé’s screams, and the baby’s crying…  But what does it all mean?

“Well, I can’t think about that now,” she told herself. The ship came out of hyperspace. “You have a job to do. To keep the Jedi ways alive.”
