Hoseok walked out the door of his apartment. He was on his way to his flower shop, Hope's Bouquets. As he was walking, he saw couples with a red thread connecting the two, and some who didn't have a red thread. It broke his heart seeing happy couples without a red thread. They almost looked perfect together, except fate wasn't on their sides.

Hoseok was special. He could see the red thread that connected soulmates. He wasn't the only one though. His mom and everyone else on his mom's side of the family saw it too. It started with his grandma. You could see the thread of other peoples, but not your own or anyone else who could see the red thread of fate. So you could never know if the person you love is really your soulmate or not. This caused a lot of problems for Hoseok's mother. She dated and dumped many guys over and over again. It was like a cycle. Many had thought she was a slut for dating all those guys, but really, she only dumped them when she saw that their red thread is connected to someone else. It would be easier to let them go right away and avoid further heartbreak. Hoseok would see his heartbroken mom crying over not finding her soulmate, and that broke his heart. Hoseok was forced to believe in soulmates, but how could he when hasn't experienced love? He was scared of being depressed like his mother.

Hoseok entered the flower shop, flipping the sign from 'CLOSED' to 'OPEN'. He then proceeded to clean the store a bit while he waited for customers. Customers will come and go, but during February was when he got busy. And he was very busy this month. Especially with Valentines Day coming up.

He sat on the counter with his head resting on his palm as he tapped on the surface, patiently. Finally, a customer entered the store. He was a short male with silver hair.

They greeted each other, and the young male proceeded to walk around the store, admiring the flowers. Hoseok saw the unsure look on his face. He couldn't keep his eyes off the unintentional small pout on the male's lips as he looked around.

"What can I help you with?" He asked walking up to the male.

He looked up, smiling a little at the tall male, "Oh, just looking for a flower for my little brother."

"What's the occasion?" Hoseok asked.

"His graduation is soon." He replied.

"Graduation, Huh?" Hoseok pursed his lips together, "I'd go with these roses, daisies, and tulips. The colorful colors are pretty."

The mint haired male watched as he gathered the flowers, arranging them into a pretty bouquet.

"Yeah," he breathed out.

"Here you go!" Hoseok flashed his cheerful smile as he showed him the pretty bouquet. They walked back to the cashier, and Hoseok rang him up.

"Tell your brother I say congratulations," Hoseok winked, as he gave him the flowers. He didn't know why. Hoseok never winks. But it just happened. It felt so natural.

He nodded, "Thank you,"

As he walked out of the store, he finally let out the breath he had been holding since Hoseok winked at him. Was he subtly flirting with him? Who knew that had such an affect on Yoongi? If another guy winked at him like that, Yoongi would just roll his eyes.

"Yoongi!" Jimin waved.

Yoongi turned to his right, seeing the tiny male that was now starting to get taller than Yoongi. Jimin loved it, but Yoongi hated it.

"C'mon!" He tugged on Yoongi's arm, "we're gonna be late if we don't hurry!"

Yoongi groaned as Jimin pulled him along.

Jimin was awfully excited to see his boyfriend graduate. He couldn't wait to see his boyfriend walk up the aisle and grab his diploma. The bunny smile on his face, the eye wrinkle! Jimin was madly in love with him.

Yoongi would always roll his eyes at them, but he was happy. Jealous too.

Not of Jungkook. But what they have.

Yoongi wanted to find someone who will love him like Jimin and Jungkook love each other. But it's hard to find someone who will love you and your flaws. For some it's easy, but it's hard for others. Yoongi was the latter.

He was still young, 22 years old. He still had time to meet that someone. But he wondered what they were like? How would they treat him? Would they love as much as he would love them?

When he thought of the future, Yoongi would think about a family with his significant other. A happy life in a nice house. A good, well paying job. The perfect future...

But there was no such thing as perfect. And that well paying job is not what he had now. A job as a waiter at a Korean restaurant. He was also a college student, but he was able to balance it out.

But he was happy none the less.

"JEON JUNGKOOK!!" Taehyung yelled at the top of his lungs as soon as the said male was called.

He had the biggest bunny smile on his cute features as he walked down the aisle. He bowed as he grabbed the diploma from the principal of his high school.

"THAT'S MY BOYFRIEND!!!" Jimin screamed.

"Stop shouting," Yoongi complained, "they're gonna kick us out."

"It's called support!" Jimin argued.

Jungkook and Yoongi's family chuckled at their cuteness. They were so young and wild. It reminded them of when they were young.

Jungkook looked at his friends and family. He flashed a bigger smile as he waved up his diploma like a happy little baby.

'He really is growing up' Yoongi thought, but he still saw Jungkook as a little kid no matter what.

After the graduation, Jungkook went to the after party with his high school friends. He was gonna be back really late.

"I'm gonna go to the bathroom." Yoongi said to his friends and family as he walked back into the building.

He walked passed the crowd of people in attempt to find the bathroom. He sighed.

He was lost.

"Are you lost?" a voice asked behind him.

author note:
I've been really anxious and excited about releasing this book, and I feel like the soulmates and red strings thing could get confusing because I can't explain well. If you have any questions, just ask. Thank you for reading the first chapter of Fate, more will come. :)
