Yoongi unlocked the door to his house, and entered. The first thing he saw after he locked it was his mom and step-brother at the dining table drinking tea."Oh, mom!" Yoongi gummy smiled. He quickly dropped his work bag on the couch and hugged her tightly.
"Hi kitty," she placed a sweet kiss on Yoongi's forehead.
"What are you doing here?" Yoongi asked, taking a seat next to Jungkook.
"You never responded to my text," she explained, "I also missed you two very much."
"You texted me?"
"Yeah, but it's okay," she shook her head, "I was just asking how you are doing."
"I told mom about the Shadow Lady," Jungkook spoke, "She always knew what to do when you are scared."
Yoongi nodded, "Where's dad?"
"He's at work right now," she answered. She got up from her seat and walked around the house, "It's been a while since I've last visited. How are things going?"
"They're going fine," answered Jungkook.
She stopped in her steps when she noticed the empty pizza cartons on their kitchen counter, "You guys ate pizza recently?"
"My friends and my boyfriend came to visit not too long ago."
"Oh yes," she nodded, "How are things going with you and Jimin?"
Jungkook blushed, taken aback from the question, "Uh- well- I-"
"They spent their Valentine's Day with their friends!" Yoongi complained.
"What?" his mom asked in disbelief, "Jungkook, you should know better! You could have at least went on a date!"
Jungkook pouted.
"He and Jimin are just shy," Yoongi rolled his eyes.
"We just started going out!" Jungkook shouted.
"Yeah, like two months ago!" Yoongi retaliated.
Their mom just rolled her eyes at her two sons bickering, her eyes landing on a small bouquet of roses in a pretty yellow vase. She stepped forward to the roses, admiring them.
"And who got you these?" she asked. The two stopped their bickering and turned to their mother.
"Oh that?" Jungkook nodded, "Yoongi hyung gets roses for himself every Valentine's since he's single and lonely."
"Prick," Yoongi muttered under his breath, "Those were a gift this year."
"Oh!" their mother's eyes sparkled, "By who?"
"It's just from one of my friends who owns a flower shop," Yoongi shrugged nonchalantly as he looked outside the window, "He gave it to me for free because he felt bad that I was buying flowers for myself."
"How romantic," Jungkook rolled his eyes.
"Shut it, Jungcock."
"Yoongay."
"And this is why I worry over you two," she rolled her eyes.
♥
"I'll visit it you again next time I'm in the area!" she said as she zipped up her boots.
When she was finished, she step towards Jungkook, "Until next time, bunny," she whispered and kissed his cheek. The same cheek where he has a scar.
"And the same to you, kitty," she kissed Yoongi's cheek.
Bunny and Kitty. They were nicknames given to the boys from their mother. There wasn't really a special meaning behind it, she just thought they resembled the animals very well. Jungkook has a bunny smile, and really loved his carrots. Maybe a little too much. And Yoongi had cat-like eyes, and lazed around like a cat. She started out calling them these nicknames as a joke, but it soon became her way of affection towards her sons.
"So, you prefer guys, huh?" Jungkook asked Yoongi after their mom left, earning a whack to the back of his head.

Hoseok finally finished his shift, closing up the shop and driving back home. He got out of his car, and felt his phone in his back pocket vibrate. He looked at the caller ID before answering.
"Hey mom!" he greeted.
"Hi Hoseokie," he heard her say on the other side. Her voice seemed dry.
"You okay? You don't sound so good," Hoseok asked.
"I'm fine. Things have been hard. You know why."
Hoseok nodded, though she couldn't see it, "It's not your fault."
"You're right," she said, "It's god's fault. He cursed us with this ability. He wants us to suffer."
"Mom, how many times do I have to keep saying this? You don't need a lover. You've got friends and family who love you and care for you. Don't waste your time-"
"I know, I know."
There was a pause, "Mom?"
"I need a drink. I'll call you later, love you."
She hung up before Hoseok could say it back. He sighed. Hoseok knew that his mother was jealous of others, because they had soulmates. No matter how hard she tried to find hers, she couldn't. All she wanted was to find her soulmate, and to settle down. This caused cloudy, rainy clouds over his mother, and empty beer bottles in her living room. As depressed as she was, she was still a mother. She didn't want her son to see her like this, so she had him move in with her sister. Then Hoseok moved out after that, opening up his flower shop.
Hoseok convinced himself that he didn't need a soulmate in life. Who needs a soulmate when you have friends who love you? Yeah, that's true. But sometimes he gets lonely. It's okay to be lonely sometimes, he says, because it happens to the best of us.
What Hoseok really wanted was to find out how to lift this curse off their family, or how it started. No one knows how this whole thing with red strings happened. Not even the oldest member of the family, who was on his deathbed.
Hoseok shook off his thoughts. He shouldn't think too much about this stuff. It'll stress him out.
