Calliope Jane Edwards
I wore a medium length midnight blue dress for my dinner date with Jacob. We've been dating for almost two years now and honestly I couldn't think of my life without him. I was in love. I was just doing the last few touch ups of my make up when I heard someone knock on the door. I saw Harry standing there.
"Hey Harry" I greet him as I putting on my earrings "Someone's all dressed up! Where is the chick going?" he asked "No where, just going for dinner with Jacob" I say with a small laugh "Oh, I thought we could have a movie night" he says, looking down at the ground "I'm so sorry, but you know how important he is right?" I said, taking my clutch bag
"So much that you forget your best friends" Harry said and turned around and headed downstairs. I ran behind him and caught him "Hey! I haven't forgotten you two at all' I tell him "You promised that our movie nights will never change, but ever since Jacob came into your life, movie nights don't matter" he whined as he walked into the kitchen.
He sat on the , eating a muffin mum baked today "It matters, you guys always matter to me, Harry...remember when you two had your girlfriends..well you still have. You pretty much forget things and people around you" I told him "I won't agree on that" he denies , shaking his head. I opened my mouth to speak, but the doorbell stopped me
"There you go, Jacob has arrived" Harry sighed and got up and left the house from the kitchen door. I sighed and walked to the main door and opened it to see Jacob, with a bouquet of roses
"Hi' he greets
"Hey" I greet him
He handed me the roses "I saw them on the way, thought of picking it up for you" "Aw, Jacob! thank you" I thank him and gave him a small peck on his lips. I placed the roses on the dinning table vase and came to the door again "Shall we go?" he asks "Ready to go" I reply.
We held each other's hand and walked towards his car, he opened the passenger side and me sit, closed the door and went over to the dirver's side and started to drive. "So where are we going?" I asked "You'll see" he said and kept driving
"Is it a restaurant?" I ask "It's a surprise Cal" he chuckled as he spoke "You know I hate surprises" I remind him "Well, I know you like them equally" he says with a small smile.
We drove down several streets and I had no clue where he was heading until he made a stop by parking the car. He got out of the car and came to my side and opened the door and helped me out. Then I felt something on my eyes "Jacob? why are you blindfolding me?" I gasp "Chill Callie, I just don't want you to see the place right now" he calmly replied
"I cannot see it anyways because it's dark" I tell him, in an obvious manner. He held my hand and led me along the way to where he was taking me.
We walked over grass, I felt... then over a hard ground and then a stop...Jacob opened my blind fold and I was standing on green grass which over looked to a lake and there was a candle lit table
"Its beautiful" I mutter in surprise "Told you that you love surprises" he tells me.
We held our hands and walked to the table, he made me sit and then took his seat. He lifted my cloche and I found Spaghetti Bolognese staring at me "I thought you might like it for the night" he said, I giggle.
We ate our meal with little words in between. The food was great and I could eat more of it if my stomach had more space.
"You stuffed?" Jacob asked me "Stuffed like a turkey" I reply. Jacob got up, but told me to be seated. He came over to my side and stood on his knee "Jacob?" I was confused
"Shh..just hear me" I nod as he spoke.
He took in a little breathe and then spoke
"I met these beautiful eyes two years back. Two years back..I was pathetic and after I met you at the pub, my whole life changed. Since then I knew that you meant a lot in my heart. To hear a yes on our third date when I asked you to be my girlfriend was the best thing ever" he paused for a second and then continued
"I promise to take care of you at all times. I've never been in love like this before....you changed me. "
His hand went to his pant's pocket and pulled out a blue velvet box and opened it
"Calliope Jane Edwards, would you do the honours of being my wife?" He asked me
I was shocked, I wasn't expecting a proposal but I've always wanted to marry him and that was exactly my answer
"Yes"
Jacob put the beautiful ring on my left ring finger, I got up and kissed him with complete passion. I was in love...and this was just perfect to me
After our kiss, we slowly walked back to where he parked his car. I could not still believe that Jacob actually asked my hand in marriage. I thought it would be just a dream and now, I'm getting married!
Jacob started driving towards my home, I placed my head on his shoulder and began to wonder things when it struck me
How am I going to tell people about this?

"There you go, home sweet home" he spoke as he opened the passenger door for me to get out. I got out and stood in front of him. I had to look up to see his face. I was tall but Jacob was just too tall.
"I still can't believe it" I whisper to him "Believe it Callie, I did put that ring on your finger" he leaned in and gave me a kiss. I kissed him back " I love you Callie" he told me after we kissed "I love you too" I tell him
He gave me a kiss on my temple and then he walked to his car while I walked to the door. I waved him before he drove off to his place. I opened the door and closed the door behind me and let out a shout of excitement
"Oh for the love of God, Calliope! It's midnight" I heard my mother yell. I heard my sister and my mother's footsteps down the stairs and soon they were in front of me
"You look extra happy after a date" My sister comments "Because I am extra happy, Dani!" I exclaim "And why exactly is that?" my mother asked me
"Because he proposed to me tonight" I show off my ring
"What!" they exclaimed...happy and surprised
"I'm getting married!"
