The tale begins with a girl in her bed
On a bleak summer night.

When the night falls
The dead rise and monsters wake under her bed.
The clock strikes twelve
Announcing the haunting hour,
The silence spreads.

Unaware of her fate,
The girl stays in bed, scared
As her heart pounds
But the mouth doesn't make a sound.
Her eyes scan the room
To find someone, something
That can save her.

A face starts to form on the ceiling
The room rattles, shuffling
On the other side of the door,
An apparition sneaks in.

Moonlit room, taunting the holy,
She found herself levitating,
The silk sheets form a silhouette;
Paralyzed body, the mind was numb.

This wasn't a nightmare
Or a vivid dream.
This was a premonition of an
old story
Repeating itself
Consuming another soul as a reward.

A tug on her feet jolts her awake
She finds herself back in the bed
As the alarm is blaring in the background.
