Delight in the Fright

The moon was bright above us

Giving little light for our sheet covered feet

Excited for the hocus pocus

And our much desired treats

All we had to do

Was finally meet

A dark and scary weirdo

Who lived down the street

The house was run down

Surely would give you a frown

The haunted windows

And the pillars with shadows

Making your skin crawl

With goose bumps

Trying not to bawl

With the thump… thump.  Thump.

Of your fearful heart

Racing as you climbed the stairs

Reaching a sign that says enter if you dare

The spiders fall from cobwebs

Their eyes a terrible blood red

Ring the doorbell once it says

A treat awaits you it says

The ghoul that answers begs the differ

Be sure to call him mister

After that he'll load you down with snickers

Just watch out for the splinters

On the railing of course

Not the candy you dorks

Have fun in the night

May you delight in the fright
