Jaycen walked into his office at the newly named KJ's. He closed the door and looked around at the four walls. They were painted white. The carpeting was white shag and his desk sat right in the middle of the floor. Jaycen knew his office wasn't spectacular, but it was the place where he and Darrin had been secretly meeting to plan Khalid's downfall.
Over the past three weeks, Jaycen had been serving Khalid up on a regular day basis, due to his threat of "outing" him to his son and new boyfriend. Yes, Aubrey was his boyfriend now. They had made their relationship official a week before and pledged to be exclusive. Jaycen hated lying to Aubrey, but he knew that it was for his own good. Khalid was planning a huge bash to introduce his partnership with Jaycen that night. The bash just happened to be on the same day as Avis' eighteenth birthday. He knew that Jaycen had business to attend to, as well as he did. Avis had gotten a phone call two days before from the law offices of James, Farlow and Truitt. He had a meeting scheduled the morning of his birthday. The female that called him asked him specifically not to tell his father about the meeting, so Avis quietly kept the secret to himself. Jaycen sighed deeply as he thought about everything that had just transpired at the lawyers office.

Avis got up that morning, dressed and had Leslie take him to the law offices. What he didn't know is that a lawyer from the law offices of James, Farlow and Truitt had called Jaycen and invited him to the meeting as well. Jaycen walked into the office of Eleanor James-Truitt and was surprised to see Avis sitting in a chair facing Eleanor's empty desk. When Avis felt a presence, he turned to see his father standing over him.
"Uh, Dad, what are you doing here?"
"I could ask you the same thing, son. You are supposed to be in school. I thought that was where you were going this morning."
