THREE MONTHS LATER

After all was said and done, everything did not turn out as everyone thought that they would. Jaycen and Aubrey finally had their union legalized on May 28, 2011. Austin Cairo Jones was born during the early morning hours of June 24, 2011. He was eight pounds and four ounces. Jaycen was at Aubrey's side when he became a father, determined to stand by his husband as they stated in their wedding vows. Since Aubrey was now a medical doctor, he helped to deliver his son. Caira and Aubrey had agreed to share joint-custody, with Caira moving back to Georgia so that Aubrey could help raise his son. Jaycen didn't fully accept her, but he loved Austin, so he knew eventually that he would be okay with his mother.

Upon returning to Georgia, Avis appointed Jaycen as the CEO of Prentice International, while he took the position as president. He also reached out to his grandfather Jared and gave him a position in the company as the executive vice president. During their trip to Italy, he and Justin had became closer. Justin finally revealed his true feelings for him and they decided to see where their newfound relationship would lead them. Justin declined an offer to work at the company, but decided to stay at the Christopher mansion to be with Avis.

Leslie decided to attend college at The Art Institute of Atlanta along with his best friend Donte. He was surprised when he got his acceptance letter so quickly, as he did not send out an application in the normal time frame. The president Jo Ann Koch told him that he was accepted because of a glowing recommendation from Avis. Leslie realized that he screwed up a great relationship with Avis, but was thankful for the time that they shared and hoped that someday he would be forgiven and maybe be able to resume a relationship with him again. For now, he was determined to make something of his life and make himself as well as his family proud.

Chanchez and Deray moved out of the Christopher mansion and into their own condominium apartment. It seems Jonathan had left Deray a 75% share and a majority stake in a plethora of apartment buildings, offices and hotels. Deray took over the day to day operations, while Chanchez kept their home life normal. The two of them were in love and enjoying their time with each other. Deray was now officially a Prentice, as the courts had awarded him the right to be called Deray Prentice at the request of Jaycen, Jared and Avis. He was a part of a family, the right family and he was going to make sure that they were a part of him too.

Jaycen moved Vanessa into the Christopher estate to keep an eye on her and his unborn child. Despite not being around for so long, she and Avis had developed a relationship. She was safely back on her medication and the baby was right on schedule. It was due on December 25, 2011, so Christmas was certainly going to be a memorable one. Her marriage to Khalil was dissolved and she was looking forward to raising her child with Jaycen, as she had wanted to eighteen years before.

Trey and Aubrey had parted ways as far as the duo was concerned. Aubrey agreed to be Trey's manager, with Antoine as his assistant. It was a way for him to rebuild his relationship with his brother. They had a lot of catching up to do. Trey's debut single, "TDC" made its worldwide inception on radio and television stations. It was a song about a confused boy who grew up with women being obsessed with his oral skills. It was number 14 on the R&B and rap charts, while being number 34 on the Pop charts. His album "AuTrey" would be released in the fall.

Although, Trey had confessed his love for Aarik, he decided not to be in a relationship with him. He had saved Aarik from a life of male prostitution, but couldn't bring himself to jeopardize his career by being in a committed relationship with another dude. Aarik decided to return to his hometown of South Beach, Florida and start over. He wanted to rebuild his relationship with his mother and his former best friend.

Last but not least, Khalid Dickson evaded police custody after the attempted murder of Jaycen, Deray, Antoine and Aubrey. After falling into the pool, he managed to swim to the edge and get out. He hid in Puerto Rico, until the authorities stopped looking for him and then left for parts unknown. He hadn't returned to Georgia because he knew that the police would be waiting for him upon his return. But, Jaycen knew that one day his sick and deranged uncle would return to seek revenge on those who brought him down and this time, and maybe just maybe, he would succeed at just that...
