Becky's POV

"So what exactly did Allison leave you with. Any advice? Money?" I said gagging at the name Allison coming out of my mouth.

"Well she left Emery, the bag that had her birth certificate and other documents, a can of baby formula, a bottle, the baby carrier seat thing, and that's pretty much it" Seth said with a shrug.

"No type of explanation?" I scoffed. "Not that I know of" he said nonchalantly taking a stroller from the shelf.

"But doesn't it bother you that it's such a bitchy move. Like who lives their kid on a doorstep in the freaking rain. I'm surprised the poor thing isn't sick" I complained.

"Well it wouldn't help the situation to be mad at anyone so I just got to handle it all. I have to understand how to be a dad because I don't want to burden you forever" he said.

I felt a tug at my heart. "Honestly Seth, I was just in a mood yesterday, I'm here as long as you need me. If I'm here til the kid is 5 then I'll raise her like my own. Well until you find a girlfriend at least and then she can play step mom but anyways, I'm here for you and even though it's going to be a bitch when we travel 12 hour flights with a baby, it'll all be worth it" I said.

He flashed me a wide smile, "You're the best. Now wait here while I go ask if they have this carrier-sling in a different color."
I laughed as he scurried off, "it's called a kangaroo!"

"What am I going to you with you two" I said gently to Emmery as I tickled her. She lit up with laughter as I walked over to the baby clothes. I threw everything I thought was cute into the cart.

"Aww is that your baby?" A woman about my age asked.
"It's a lot more complicated than it should be but yes. I'm more of a stepmom, her mom is out of the picture" I explained.
"Well she is the cutest thing I have ever seen" the lady cooed. "Thank you" I said looking at the baby who was smiling back at me.

Ugh kid, don't do this to me. I don't want to get attached.

The lady then left and Seth came back. "I asked the lady and they found a gray one, perfect right!" He said excited.

I laughed, "You're such a dad already. I don't see what was wrong with you wearing the yellow kangaroo."
He glared at me, "it didn't match her eyes" he defended.

"Okayy... sure, you don't got to convince me. You're going to be the one wearing it anyways" I said.

"What? Really? I thought we could take turns" he said.

"Ah ha! I knew it, you wanted it to be gender neutral so we could both use it. No way, that thing is definitely going to hurt my back" I defended but honestly the thing was so damn cute.

"Please?" He said. "We'll discuss it later. Let's go get the crib" I said pushing the cart.

After too much time in that store we walked out with about $3,000 worth of stuff.

We got to Seth's place and quickly started building things as we took advantage on the fact that Emmery was napping.

We were very productive but then we heard a loud cry come from his bedroom.

"It's your turn Red, go get her" he said.

"It's your kid, you go get her" I fought back. He sighed and got up knowing he wasn't going to win this battle. I smirked in content but it was quickly wiped away when the baby and the bottle were placed in my arms.

"What the hell?" I told him. "Please?" He said giving me the look he knows I can't say no to.
"Fine. Keep building" I instructed. I gently rocked the baby but she wouldn't stop fussing until I realized what was wrong. Her diaper felt heavy.
I glared at Seth, he knew. "Take your daughter and go clean her up" I ordered.
"Red, please" he asked. "Nope and I'm not budging. Go be a dad" I said expectantly. He groaned but took the baby out of my hands to go change her diaper.

I set up the swing as he was gone and when he can back I laid her on the swing she loved it. It kept her entertained for a majority of the time as we finished her nursery.

Maybe this won't be so bad.

I was quickly snapped out of my thoughts as my phone rang. It was Nick, my boyfriend. I walked out the room to answer it.

"Hey babe what's up?" I said. "Are you almost here?" He asked. "At where?" I asked cluelessly.

"Becks I'm at the airport. You said you would pick me up" he said in an as a matter of fact tone. "Shit I'm sorry babe. I'll be there in 20 minutes, I'll explain there" I said before hanging ups

"Hey I have to go pick up Nick, call me later if you need help" I told Seth. "Oh, okay" he said looking clueless. I rushed out of the house as if my pants were on fire and sped to the airport.

I drove to the pick up and drop off lane at the airport and Nick got in my car as he spotted me.

"I'm so sorry babe, Seth's ex dropped of a baby that he didn't know existed and I was helping him set up things for her. I got distracted, and completely forgot what today was" I explained.

"It's not your fault he has a kid Bex, why do you have to take care of it. You're too kind and selfless" Nick said. I shrugged, "I know he'd do the same if the roles were reversed." Nick rolled his eyes and changed the conversation.

"My place or yours?" He asked. "Yours" I responded knowing my place was a mess because I hadn't been there within the last 24 hours but Nick didn't need to know that.
