As stated by the previous one shot, this one is about Blaise Zabini. It was requested by TheLostStory99 so I hope you enjoy it and thanks again for being a loyal reader. Actually, thank all of you for being such loyal readers and sticking with me through the slow updates! Now, without further ado, on with the one shot!

I made my way towards the newly made Forensics Department in the Ministry of Magic, my department was formed by us muggleborns who were shocked by the lack of forensic evidence or any evidence for that matter in all trials that had taken place in the Wizarding World. We were a sub department of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement and now a crucial part of all trials at only two years old.

I walked into my office and sat down, pulling the pile of files towards me. My old house of Ravenclaw definitely helped me when it came to my job, it allowed me to focus on the cold, hard facts without creating an emotional attachment. This helped in particular when I presented our department's findings to the Wizengamot. I sorted the files into cases we'd solved and cases we were working on and filed the solved ones away and I was very pleased to see that we only had one to work on, so I pulled it towards me and began reading:

Defendant: Blaise Zabini

Reason for arrest: First Grade Murder

I rolled my eyes and used my quill to correct the file before continuing to read.

Defendant: Blaise Zabini

Reason for Arrest: Murder in the First Degree

Evidence: Fingerprints, Blood Spatter Analysis, Handwriting Analysis, DNA Comparison

Evidence Findings:
Fingerprints - No Fingerprints found at crime scene
Blood Spatter Analysis - No blood spatter of any velocity found on suspects clothing
Handwriting Analysis - Doesn't match letter found at crime scene
DNA Comparison -

Trial Date: 19th March 2003, 10am

I closed the file and headed over to the DNA subsection. I needed their findings before tomorrow.

"You may say that it was not you that committed this crime but forensic evidence cannot lie, so I will now hand over to our Head of Forensics to show their findings. Miss Kempt, the floor is yours." Kingsley said, I stood up and made my way to the centre of the room as I did I made minute eye contact with my former classmate.

"Thank you, Minister. Now, as we all know, foreign fingerprints, assumed to be the killers, were found at the scene and having compared these to Mr Zabini's prints, we eliminate him as being the person that contributed these prints. We could also find no blood spatter of any velocity on his clothing, neither did his handwriting match the letter found in the victims home. Finally, Mr Zabini's DNA profile does not match the one found at the scene. So, in my forensic belief, Mr Zabini did not commit this crime." I stated to the Wizengamot before I left the room, I had done my job, but as I walked out I heard the verdict.

"Not Guilty."

Four days later, I sat in my office looking over new cases but also new recruits. Our department worked like something of an apprenticeship programme. The original group of ten of us went to muggle university to learn forensic skills and various specialisms of forensics and now we trained wizards in our protocols and techniques. I stood up and went to the end of the corridor to meet the new recruits; there was only going to be four. I grabbed Ernie Macmillan, Ava Moon and Justin Garble and we walked down.
