i had just missed the bus and i had to wait for the next one. i had half an hour to kill so i went to the park. it wasn't too far. i sat at a bench and watched how people went along with their day with no care in the world. i was about to leave when he came and sat next to me. he said hi and introduced himself as Frank. i returned the favor and we began to talk. i got so caught up in the conversation i completely forgot about the bus. i checked the time and told him that i had to make it to the bus. he smiled and said,

"i guess i'll just follow you then," as he stood up. "i missed the bus this morning and decided to hang out here. we should go though, so we don't miss the next bus." or something along those lines.

we walked to the bus stop and talked about ourselves. i learned that he had a dog and planned on having

"10."

"you want 10 dogs Frank?"

"yea! why not! they're so cute and precious"

"they're also a pain in the ass to take care of"

"what's a little commitment?"

"oh i don't know, walking them everyday, having to buy tons of food, giving them equal attention"

"oh don't be so sour Gerard. when i have 10 dogs, i'll invite you over and we can have a dog party"

he smiled so brightly at the idea. that's when my world really became vibrant. that's when the butterflies began to develop. that's when i realized that being his friend would be a great idea.
