It seemed like the room was getting smaller and tighter. The air suddenly got too thick to breathe. It felt like something was crushing against her chest, making it nearly impossible to inhale. Ji Hazelle, 14, was crouched on the floor, against the wall, curled up and covering her ears.

Ji Guanlin looked at his younger sister worriedly. This was not the first time something like this had happened. It was a day before the Grand Prix Finals. Normally, he would see Hazelle have a breakdown right after competition, but not before. This was Hazelle's first Grand Prix, so he would understand if she was anxious.

He didn't expect it to be at this level, though.

Guanlin rushed towards Hazelle, thanking whoever made these hotel rooms soundproof. As far as he knew, his parents didn't know about Hazelle's condition. Hazelle, selfless as she was, didn't want to bother many people about her attacks.

"Haze..." Guanlin crouched down to her current level. Hazelle was breathing more easily now, finally calmed down enough. He took her hands away from her ears, breathing more slowly. "Remember the breathing technique I told you."

Hazelle followed Guanlin's breathing. She had calmed down even more. "Gale."

The older of the two slightly smiled. "There. Are you good?"

"Yeah," Hazelle nodded, still feeling her heart race. "Thank you for helping me. Again."

Guanlin stared at her, eyes filled with worry and concern. "Haze, this isn't normal at this level, you know that yourself, right? You've seen me like this when we were much younger. It's—"
