chapter 5: special dinner

I woke up as Mirage softly carried my cheek. "Wake up, Sia!" He whispered gently. I blinked a few times and looked up before rolling on my side and snuggling in his neck. I felt him chuckle and gently rubbing my back and kissing my head.

"You need to get up! Your shift starts within fifteen minutes!" He purred. I sighed and looked up. Dino gently stroke my head and carried my cheek. "Do you wanna have dinner with me tonight?" I asked shyly.

"Hmm... I'll make you something special tonight!" He said. I smiled and nodded "Prime called me... please be careful!" He sighed, fixing his silky brown hair.

"I'll be fine!" I said waving my hand. He nodded and got up, rubbing my cheek before he left. I left for my shift after I got my weapons and leg holster attaching it around my thigh.

I started my shift, like always and enjoyed my work, just to clear my mind from what happened earlier today. I saw Dino talking to Sideswipe and Bumblebee in their native language and he seemed pretty serious.

I brushed it off, I didn't want to disturb them and continued my shift. It's sweet of Dino he wanted to make dinner for me even now he's so busy with his work and all.

The words of my mother flew through my mind, she didn't like the idea of me and Dino being a couple. I doubted he even wanted me as his girlfriend, why would he. I glanced at him one more time before I left the hanger.

I was too weak anyway...

I brushed it off and finished my shift at six in the evening. I stalked over to the kitchen, and the first thing I noticed was the smell. It smelled delicious and the second thing I noticed, was the dimmed lights. I walked in and saw Dino was already waiting for me. He stalked over to me "how was your shift?" He asked while smiling.

"It was good..." I said. He hummed and took me to the table, three red candles stood in the middle. He gestured me to sit down which I did instantly. He walked off and returned later with a plate. "This is Arugula Salad with Prosciutto and Oyster Mushrooms for starter!" He said. Placing it in front of me.

"Wow..." I said inspecting my plate. He sat down and smirked. "I knew you could cook... but this looks amazing!" I said breathlessly. He smirked and gave me a glass of red wine.

"I'm Italian... I know everything about the culture, history, food, habits, special days and language," he said. I smiled at him and started eating. It didn't look only good, it also tasted amazing. "This is delicious!" I said before taking another bite. Dino smirked and took a bite as well.

"Indeed," he said with a chuckle. "Where did you find the time to make this all?" I asked surprised. He smirked again "after I was done with my shift, I left to do some groceries," he said simply.

I blushed a little, he did this all for me and I couldn't believe it. "How's your arm?" He asked before taking another bite. "Well... the pain killers don't work anymore, but it's not that bad if I don't use it too much it's fine," I simply said.

He seemed to be relieved "how was your shift?!" I asked. He groaned and rubbed his face. "Mearing is on my tailpipe! Really annoying!" He sulked. "Mearing is the director of national intelligence, right?" I asked. He nodded before taking another bite.

"Yes... and I highly dislike her! All she does is snapping at me and I need to obey her! Optimus ordered me!" He grunted. "Sucks..." I sighed. "Yeah...there are moments I want to snap her neck! She's giving me mission after a mission! Like she thinks I don't have a life! I need to talk to Optimus about it though!" He sighed.

"You never have a day off?" I asked surprised. He shook his head "Nope... when do you have a free day again!" He asked. "Wednesday," I replied after a moment of silence. "Why?" I asked curiously. "I wanted to do something with you!" He said. I smiled "I only have to ride Prada in the morning," I said.

He waved his hand "I like seeing you ride!" He replied. "Did you ever ride a horse?" I suddenly asked. He cocked his head to the side. "Uhm... I know how to ride one, never tried it though!" He said. "Why?" He added on.

"There are more horses... I thought I could take you alone!" I said. "I would like to try though!" He said. "Really!?" I asked surprised making him chuckle. He got up and grabbed the empty plate, walking over to the kitchen.

He later returned with another plate "this is Osso buco alla Milanese," he said, placing it in front of me. It smelled delicious and watched him sit down. "a veal shank with onions, celery and carrot, and the marrow from the bone gives the sauce extra flavor," he said looking proudly at me.

I smiled and cut a piece of the meat, tasting it. "This is amazing!" I said. He smiled and took a bite as well. "Typical Italian," he said softly. We chatted softly during our meal. The soldiers who walked in left us alone luckily.

As we were done with this dish, Dino got up again, taking the plates and finally returned with a smaller plate. "And our dessert... a Chocolate Amaretti Cake," he said. My eyes widened "you made besides the dishes also a cake?" I asked startled. He chuckled and nodded "yes I did!" He snorted amused. I took a bite and smiled "delicious!" I stated.

He smirked and started eating too "I'll try my best to have a free day Wednesday! Then we can hang out together!" He said. I smiled and nodded "I would love to hang out with you!" I said. He smirked and nodded. After dinner, I helped him clean up, ignoring his protests.

He grabbed the cake he had left "do you want to have it?" He asked. I started to smile making him chuckle while he gave me the plate.

"I'll see you tomorrow!" He said kissing my forehead gently. I smiled and nodded "breakfast together?" He asked. "Yeah! I would love it!" I chirped. He smirked and kissed my head one more time. "Good night sweetspark!" He said. I smiled and stalked through the halls with the remaining cake in my hands.

"So you started to bake?"

I looked up, seeing Ironhide and Lennox. "Uhm no... Dino made dinner..." I said, smiling as I thought back about it. Ironhide blinked in surprise. "He must really like you then! He never ever did something like that for a human!" He said.

"You're lucky!" Ironhide said finally. "Yeah! He even wanted to come with me Wednesday," I said. "Wednesday?" Ironhide asked. "I'm riding the horse of a friend from my mother... Dino wanted to try," I said simply. "Are you serious!" Ironhide asked shocked yet surprised.

"He picked me up yesterday... he already met Prada," I said. "You have a special bond with him! Dino is never really close to someone, most of the time he works harder and forgets about himself," he sighed.

It surprised me, Dino has so much love to give and he was really sweet and romantic. "Really?" I asked surprised, shocked even. Ironhide nodded "Yup... his past was hard, and he doesn't like talking about it!" He sighed.

"His best friend betrayed him..." Ironhide said sorrowfully. "After that he was broken... que found him shortly after and brought him to us! He joined us and fought for us, joined spec ops with Jazz... he's an asset for our army and a very killer Autobot! But sometimes he works too hard," Ironhide said.

"He never really had a romantic relationship... nor a best friend... not after what happened, it's up to Dino to tell you that," Ironhide said. "I see... poor mech! He's really fun to have around!" I said. Ironhide nodded "if you know him better... he doesn't really like humans, but seems to be interested in you," Ironhide simply said.

After I returned to my room I took a small piece of the cake and sat in bed, writing in my diary while thinking about Dino. Around 11 PM, I laid down and shut my lights, snuggling in my pillow before I fell asleep.
