TK walked the ruins of the Temple with Ken. Both unable to believe the destruction that laid before them. Fires burned without end as the snow gathered over the bodies of the slain. 'At least they will be properly buried. Alderaan protects those who protect her.' TK thought to himself. The slain Jedi Knights and Padawans would become one with the Force. He couldn't help but ponder what would happen to the Temple itself. It was clear that they needed to move, the tragedy at Ossus had occurred a second time, with the Jedi caught completely unaware. TK kept moving, kicking over rusted pieces of wire and rock that had been laid about from the battle just before. "You would think we would have felt a disturbance in the Force. We should have seen this attack coming." His voice hung low, not wanting to admit that he felt nothing before the coming attack. He smashed his hand against what remained of a window. "Damnit! This is the council's responsibility. They should have warned us! It's their fault that we didn't get here in time, their fault for keeping the Star Forge just out of reach, their fault... for Kari and Sora..." He trailed off, catching some of his words in between breaths.

Ken looked at his friend and predecessor. The young Knight had shown so much emotion in the past two days, compared to the month of being onboard the Hawk after Kari's capture. He ruffled his hair back, trying to come up with a solution to calm TK. "You know, it is puzzling at how we haven't found any of the council throughout the attack. We looked through everywhere in this place, even the lower sublevel." He paused, stopping to notice Tai walking aimlessly towards them. "Maybe Master Kamiya has something for us." He began to walk towards Tai, not noticing the grim expression planted on his face, or the dark robe he was carrying in his hands.

Tai looked at the two boys, eyes red from the tear stains that had been left. "Boys... this is the end. We've lost." He moaned, his figure shifting side to side as he trudged along the shattered hallway. "I've lost."

TK stopped his movement and went to face Tai. "What do you mean? What happened?" He looked over and noticed Davis was not following his Master. "Where is Davis?" He queried, waiting for an explanation.

Tai looked down, closing his eyes to hold back another wave of tears. "He's one with the Force..."

"What? No... it can't be." Ken cried out, not wanting to believe his friend for so many years had fallen to this attack. "What happened Master Kamiya?!"

Tai took the two Jedi with him, walking towards what remained of the council chamber. "We fought a Sith Lord, she led the ground forces it seemed." He choked on the term of Sith Lord. "She was... Sora..." He couldn't help but cry at the mention of her name. "Sora has fallen to the Dark Side. She embraced it during her month of capture from Darth Malak." He stepped slowly, feeling the dread and guilt consume his soul with each step. "Davis fought bravely, but in the end, she bested him, blocking the very style I was teaching him. He disappeared, his robes are all that I have of him." He looked over the dark brown cloak he held in his hand, remembering

TK kept questioning his friend, still confused by the events. "Tai, you can't mean that Sora killed Davis. There is no way our friend would kill one of us, no matter how far she has fallen from grace." They stopped at the door to the chamber. TK's mind raced with questions. If Sora was able to turn to the Dark Side during this time, then Kari must have as well. 'No! Kari would never fall. We went through the trials on Korriban, she defeated her inner demons. But... she always struggled with control...' His thoughts turned into fears. What if Kari had also turned to the Dark Side. That would explain the sudden attack on Alderaan, and why no warnings had been given. "Kari couldn't have turned!" 'The woman I love, the one who saved me on Korriban... what about the night we danced together?' TK recalled the memories of their shared bliss, dancing in the cantina attached to the temple. All of that was for nothing.
