Rena Lovelis is one of the Zodiac Heroes and one of the 1st Year University students. She is the deuteragonist of the series.

Background

Official Description

Volume 1

Rena Lovelis is a university student entering her 1st year and she is Nia's sister. She first appeared in Season 4 and she also has Dark Syndrome and her weapon is a Trident.

Volume 2

Rena Lovelis is an American 21-year-old student with Trident-themed powers and is Nia's younger sister. When she and her peers were about to enter their house in New Zealand, they were falling down all of the sudden. They soon met an AI who lead them to an office where they meet Sir Simon again. When she activates her powers this time, she has a red and black suit with red-screened goggles and she can use her powers.

Appearance

She is shown to have wavy, shoulder length blonde hair dyed pink(aqua in the manga and anime version) moved to the left(her right), hazel green eyes and fair skin with a mole on her right cheek. She wears a black shirt over a white sweater, black jeans and black ballet flats. Her trident is shown to be red and translucent like the other dark syndrome victims. Her sleepwear consists of a black shirt and black jean shorts. She stands on 5 ft. 3 and is of average weight. She has an ahoge in the manga and anime version. Rena turns red in her spirit form. In Volume 3, her sleepwear consists of a black shirt and black sweatpants.

Personality

Her personality traits are shown to be tomboy and immature. Like other characters, she can be shown to be concerned at times. Rena is also independant and brave.

Like other tomboys, she can go physical mainly on Chase and Medusa. She can also go crazy at times like when she met the core team again. She also finds wearing a kilt ridiculous.

Etymology

Despite the series mainly taking place in Australa and New Zealand and that Rena is American, Rena is a Hebrew, Greek and Russian name and a fairly European name.

Her last name, Lovelis is a British name and it is also a fairly European name. What doesn't make sense is that Rena is a Hebrew name while her sister's name, Nia is a Welsh name. Overall, Rena's full name makes sense since it's fairly European.
