Benjamin Azelart is one of the Chinese Zodiac Heroes and one of the students. He is the tritagonist of the series.

Background

Official Description

Volume 1

Benjamin Azelart is a high school student. He first appeared in Season 7 in Singapore. He also has Dark Syndrome but it is from an unknown cause. His weapons are sai.

Volume 2

Benjamin Azelart is an American 17-year-old student with Sai-themed powers. When he and his peers were about to enter their house in New Zealand, they were falling down all of a sudden. They soon met an AI who leads them to an office where they meet Sir Simon again. When he activates his powers this time, he has a red and black suit with red-screened goggles and he can use his powers.

Appearance

He is shown to have short light brown hair moved to the right(his left), hazel green eyes and fair skin. He wears a red shirt, black jeans and black and white shoes. Like the Western Dark Syndrome victims, his sai is shown to be translucent and red. His sleepwear consists of a red shirt and black sweatpants. He stands on 5 ft. 11 and is of average weight. Ben turns red in his spirit form.

Personality

Like his peers, he can show concern and shows immaturity. At other times, he can be serious like in a battle with Chase. He is also athletic and can play with sports. He is also flirty mostly around his girlfriend, Lexi. He also finds wearing a kilt ridiculous.

Etymology

Despite the series mainly taking place in Australia and New Zealand and that Ben is American, Benjamin is a Hebrew name and a fairly European(sounds mostly British) name. His last name, Azelart is unknown from origins.

Overall despite being American, his entire name is ambiguous mainly because his last name's meaning and origin are unknown.

Benjamin is a popular given name for males, derived from Hebrew בִּנְיָמִין, Binyāmīn, translating as "Son of my right [hand]", though, in the Samaritan Pentateuch, the name appears as "Binyaamem" "Son of my days".
