Last time: in search of the "truth within the truth" that Marcoh had spoken of, Ed, Al and [Name] snuck into the supposedly 'abandoned' Fifth Laboratory.

--

The sounds of metal objects clashing could be heard echoing from far away. You jumped around, trying your damnedest to dodge the deadly stabs and swipes coming from your opponent. You didn't hesitate to deliver a few blows, either, not that you ever managed land any good ones. The hits that did connect didn't seem to do that much damage, only gave him a few scratches, but nothing that severe. Ed wasn't fairing off that well either.

Damn it. This guy's good. You thought to yourself as you took a step back to let Ed take your place and hopefully deal some good damage. After all, he was much better at dealing with bladed weapons, while you were more comfortable with your spiked gauntlets. Who would've guessed that a serial killer would be this adept at fighting? The sarcasm in your voice did little to ease your mind. Even with the two of you combined, this "Slicer" was a formidable enemy.

Clutching your left side - where you had previously received a wound from Slicer's sword - you jumped back into the fight, having seen Ed's expression change into that of worry. "You good?" You asked your friend, landing a kick on the murderer's body, sending him skidding back a few meters and saving Ed from a deadly blow to the head..

"No. My shoulder feels disjointed." He said, holding onto his automail. "I'm afraid that it's going to break. Winry said this one's not that durable, because she used more Chrome this time."

"Then let's end this quickly." You said, right before Slicer recovered from the hit and dashed forward again. But you knew ending this fight wouldn't be easy.

After barely dodging more blows, both you and Edward were on the ground, bleeding from multiple places, using every moment you had to catch your breath. It was as if this guy was unbeatable. The murderer seemed to allow you to get a moment's rest, before chuckling at you.

"Just like a monkey. It's nice to have some lively prey for once." He laughed, thinking of how you two kept jumping around him a few seconds ago. "But those wounds and your exhaustion will be your undoing." His voice became saddened, disappointed that soon his fun would be over. "Your friend outside is being dealt with by my ally, even as we speak. He won't be able to save you."

"Is this ally of yours strong?"

"He's strong, all right." He answered. "But not as strong as me."

Upon hearing that, a rather large weight was lifted. Al was going to be fine. I seemed that Ed felt the same way as he stood back up, a confident look on his face.

"Then there's nothing to worry about. I've never won a fight against him. Ever."

--

Outside the building another fight took place , although, this one was just as one sided. Alphonse was doing considerably better than his two friends.

"Why you...!!" The attacker grumbled, lifting his face up from the dirt he had been forced into. He kept attacking with his knives, getting more and more frustrated with each stab he missed. "Why won't you... Just sit still... And let me... Cut you up?! YOU BIG JERK!! It won't hurt that bad!"

After another failed attempt at damaging Al, the larger suit of armor hit the attacker square in the face, sending the helmet piece flying. When the assailant turned around, Al noticed something off about his body, or rather, lack of one. He was just like himself, a person's soul bonded to a suit of armor. "Your body is..."

The other laughed, picking his head back up. "There was a little incident. Let me tell you a story. You may have heard it before. It's a story about a butcher named Barry." The man began.
