"Who was that?" Kol asked

"Who was that?" Kol asked.

He taking deep breaths in, to calm himself down, though that was not helping him calm down. The feeling of anger, the same anger that he had felt when he thought of Emily being in danger, or even hurt, was coming back.

Kol was truly trying to calm himself down, there was no indication that he was going to calm down though.

"Actually do not answer that. I heard you say who it was," Kol added on.

He had answered himself. The Mikaelson family had heard what was going on, but it was only Kol who had taken any action to help Emily.

Then, when the family had realized that there was danger in their compound, they were also rushing upstairs. Kol could hear their pounding footsteps.

"Brothers, Sisters, we can talk about this later," Kol shouted.

He knew that his family had heard what he had said, and he added on for good measure,

"I need to speak to Emily alone," Kol finished.

Kol was not going to be angry around her, so very slowly, he reached over to where Emily was. She was shaking in fear, and there was a cold mist that was coming from her hands.

Emily was feeling pure fear, there was nothing else that she could feel at that moment.

Kol had taken Emily's arm and pulled her towards him. She did not stop her shaking. Then, Kol had wrapped a hand around Emily's waist, his other hand on her head. He had then begun to pet her hair, not knowing exactly how to comfort and calm the girl.

"It is okay now," Kol spoke in a hushed tone.

He was trying to be considerate of how Emily was feeling, and to Emily the way that he had acted was perfect.

"I'm just so scared," Emily spoke.

She was still shaking but the mist from her hands had begun to reduce. There was no longer a cold mist surrounding the two, but she was still feeling the feeling of deep fear.

"I know, but I am awake now," Kol replied.

He had all the intention of maintaining the promise that he had made, he would not break this vow. That was for sure. He was her protector, and she would always be protected whenever she was in danger.

"And I will always protect you, no matter what," Kol added on.

He needed Emily to believe that what he was saying was true. It was true, but he wanted Emily to have faith in him, that he would always protect her because he would.

Emily nodded and said,

"I know that," as she snuggled back into his chest. Kol then stated,

"Now angel, can we go downstairs and tell my family what is going on? They might be able to help you," with a small nod from Emily, Kol had let Emily go.

He grabbed her hand and intertwined their fingers, taking them both of them downstairs to where the rest of the Mikaelsons were.
