Silence... silence filled the void of nothingness, the body felt nonexistent, his mind is clear, but his thoughts slip everywhere, yet his movements felt still.

"What am I doing here...?"

Slowly opening his eyes, Sybarin's clearing vision was met with the familiar view of decently white painted ceilings and grey walls of Beacon's infirmary. Looking to the side, Tayla was standing up to greet him with a relieved expression quickly warming up on her face. "Sybarin, you're awake. You blacked out earlier, what happened?"

Sybarin rubbed his head and groaned, unable to recall what happened, "I... I don't know. I can't remember." letting out a fatigued sigh, he continues, " I just remember feeling upset and... terrified."

Tayla looked at him with expressions of concern and put a hand on his shoulder. Sybarin has never shown such vulnerability before, it's as if his persona has completely shattered and fallen apart. It's as if the Sybarin that mentored her is no longer present and instead... was a scared boy.

Drawing her hand back, she musters the gut to confront him. With a firm tone, she asks him, "Sybarin, what happened to you after we separated? I've never seen you this terrified before."

Surprised with the unexpected tone she gave, Sybarin gave her a surprised and confused look. Immediately, Tayla loses her posture.

"I- I didn't mean to sound like I'm mad at you, but..." Tayla sighs, slightly irritated to be unable to find her words, "... okay, you've not been yourself since we found you. And this change you've had, it's so drastic compared to the ones you've had before. It's as if we don't really even know you anymore."

Holding her breath, she braced for whatever unexpected might come. If she doesn't ask him now, she may never muster the courage to ask him herself next time. Not only that, she still feels indebted to him in a way, and that this may be the best opportunity to repay that debt.

Sybarin turns away and looks down at the blanket in front of him, clenching his blanket, not saying a word. "I... I can't say it."

Silence filled the room. Both Tennos, unable to find the words to say to each other. Tayla reached out a hand for his shoulder, but Sybarin cut her off before she could reach him.

"Leave me alone."

Without another sound, she slowly stood from her chair and walked out of the room.

Eerie silence filled the room, the lights in the infirmary were dimly lit, and Sybarin stared down at his hands, feeling not even the slightest strength or will to move them. As he pushed his will to clench it, his hands only trembled like a cripple's.

Two days later...

Ruby laid her head on her arms, glooming over in front of Weiss and Yang, "Sybarin's been avoiding us for days now."

Blake remained silently between her teammates, also troubled by her own problems. Despite the fact that Sybarin caught the head, they were back on their feet quicker than anyone else knew it with their new leader.

Weiss turned to Blake also noticing her in a similar state, just not as severe. Irritated, she slams her book shut and gives her a stern look, "Blake."

The Faunus turns to her.

"You've also been really gloomy since the attack, and you barely talked since then either."

"Weiss, this is Blake you're talking to." Ruby lowly said, still laying her head on her arms.

Weiss shushed Ruby and continued, "I know that you're also troubled by this. But if you also do the same thing Sybarin's doing, it's not going to take you anywhere. It won't take US anywhere."
