LEENA POV

The first few days after Xui's rejection  proved difficult. I went from anger to sadness to devastaion and back again.

I wouldnt leave my room. preferring no ones company or pitying words.

After the 3rd day however i decided  that  being a pathetic girl pining for a guy who wronged her was not who i was.  so i dragged my disgusting body down to the outside lake, washed then lazily trudged to the kitchen to eat something and when I was finally feeling human again; i sought out Slix and Lokkar to reconvene on what our next move would be

Lokkar was absent but Slix stood inside the enormous livign area of the rustic mansion. He stared out the expansive window in deep thought.

"Slix" i called

He spun to face me

"Leena. its good to see you up and about"

"Yea. so tell me what you think we should do now" i answered awkwardly i did not want to speak about my feelings of Xui or anything else.

"I have given it much thought. The most logical thing to do next is to liberate another plague facility, perhaps the one in this vicinity "

I nodded listening attentively

"I believe the more we help free the captives from those facilities, the more we will build a reputation. Then when many know of us we will strike. Many more will join us willingly then. Finding hope in our cause."

"I agree that seems smart"

I hesitated wondering if i should bring it up

"What about the others?" i asked

"What others?" he watched me curiosuly

"Julius said the facility let Cain escape so he would find the rumored rebellion they had been worried of. That means there are others out there attempting the same thing we are. We should seek them out don't you think"

He looked thoughtful for a moment before nodding his head

"Yes perhaps that would be wise. they may have resources  or vital information that could assist us. If this government of yours is wary of them then us joining them would make them undoubtedly terrified.

I smiled at that

"Yes they would probably shit themselves"

Slix stares startled

 "They would expel their excrements"

I laughed loudly

"Never mind buddy, its human humor"

He didn't look convinced but said nothing further

************************************************************************

That night i sat among the other humans eating and conversing. Nina looked more lively than i ever remembered her being. She didn't seem sad to leave the facility as i thought she would. She confirmed Cain's words about it being oppressive.

Slix and her were talking animatedly. He smiled at her often, which worried me slightly. She was only 16 and i was certain he was far older but i said nothing. They seemed to truly enjoy each other's  company; as long as that was all it was i would not interfere

It surprised me how well everyone had acclimated to living in the house . They all had chores which they gladly executed each day. Tara had even made a few new friends, humbled and pitched in. Each room was cleaned and brought back to its formal glory. The floors sparkling and furniture dust free. Some even wanted to learn to fight which Lokkar had been in charge of; much to his annoyance
