You're Mine

Chapter Four: Halloween Party

With only a select few knowing about the Halloween party going on, the campus became buzzed with whispers and gossip. People talking about group costumes, couple costumes, and others looking good to make their exes jealous. However, those who were not invited were talking about their parties or themes. While the few normal ones, like me, just wanted to stay home and watch the horror movie marathon on TV. That's what I wish I could be doing instead of going to a party where people will be trying to out-drink one another, or where they will be making out everywhere if it's just that. The very thought of that makes me shudder.

So instead of staying inside, I get to go out and face all that. That's what I get for being a sucker for their puppy eyes as they begged me to go. I agreed to go, but I had one condition they had to follow. If I feel uncomfortable at any point in time, I am allowed to leave. So they made their condition that I had to at least stay thirty minutes. Now I have two days of freedom before I'm dragged to go shopping.

Sadly, Tuesday and Wednesday speed by like a blur, and it's now Thursday morning. I feel a sense of dread run through me as I walk to school. I've been avoiding Kara and Ash like the plague, so I didn't have to see what monasteries they are going to put me in. With Kara, it could be something stylish or way to sexy for my comfort. She's always telling me that I need to show my body off. Which leads me to always replying, no one wants to see reflected light due to my skin being so pale or porcelain as she puts it. Now with Ash, I don't have to worry about it being over sexy, but he could dress me up like a little kid. He's always saying I'm mean for a walking doll. He seriously needs to watch Chucky. In other words, he wants me to be cute or adorable looking. This afternoon is going to suck I can already feel it. I look up to see a crowd of people blocking the front entrance to the school.

As I get closer, I see the cheerleaders and dance team dressed up as vampires and the undead. Once I make it to them I see they're selling black roses for a dollar. Leave it to them to find a way to make money no matter the holiday. I move my camera bag over to find my wallet. I see I have three dollars and some change inside. Perfect! I think as I hop in line. I look at my phone and see I have plenty of time before class starts. I just hope they have enough roses since this line is super long and taking more time then I realized. When I get towards the front, where there is a clearing in the crowd, I see why. People are chatting away while others are looking at the different ribbons that have cards tied onto the roses. I can't read the cards yet, but I can see the different colors of ribbon which are red, purple, green, and black. Red is love related, purple is friendship maybe, but the green and black I have no clue on. Are they also friendship and love related? Did they do hate roses for Halloween?

As the line finally starts moving again, I make it to the table where I can read their little sign they made:

Roses $1

Red- I want to suck your blood and make you mine

Purple- From your favorite ghoul friend

Green- My heart envies your BRAAAINSSS

Black- I can't live without you since you have my heart

I chuckle at how corny it is and realize the colors go with different monsters: red for vampires, purple for ghouls, green for zombies, and black for ghost or skeletons? Either way, I buy two roses. A purple one for Kara and a green one for Ash. Maybe they'll get a kick out of it too. This is right up their alley not to mention that they'll both get tons from their admirers.

I smile to myself until I feel two arms link through mine from behind. I turn to see it's the two devils themselves. Ash on my right side and Kara on my left. "What the heck you guys, scaring me like that?"
