I warped into the house, yawned and went to the fridge. It was like any normal day, apart from Steven and the kinda cute Pearl sitting in the chairs. Wait, is that Pearl usually there? Huh, I don't know Hm. "Hey Opie, think you'll be able to help me with this patient?" Steven asked. "I told you, you're the medical fixer, I'm the teacher like the others" I said. "Please?" Steven did his star eyes at me and I gave in. "Fine, but let me eat my Belvita first" I groaned.

"What's the problem then?" I asked, sitting down on the chair Steven put out for me. "This is Pink Pearl, remember her?" Steven asked. "Oh yeah, you were the Pearl being controlled by White, nice to see you back to your own colour" I smiled as she smiled brightly back. "Yep! That was me!" Pink Pearl smiled. "Pink Pearl's eye was damaged but my powers aren't working on her, think you could help?" Steven asked. "What do you suggest I do?" I asked, crossing my legs. "You have healing powers too, don't you?" Steven asked. "Yeah but then they don't work again for another forty eight hours" I said. "Think you'll need them for the next 2 days?" Steven asked as I thought for a moment. "No. Fine, I can try but I make no promises" I said, making a heart shape in front of my chest, activating my super powerful healing powers and tried to heal her eye. Nothing happened and Steven thought for a moment. "I think I know just the Pearl that can help us!" Steven said. "Nice, can I get back to bed- and here we go" I rolled my eyes as he grabbed me and Pink Pearl's hand and went down to the volleyball pitch. "Well, if it isn't my favourite medical professional and my favourite teacher!" Pearl smiled. "Favourite sleepy teacher" I yawned. "Pearl, do you have a moment for us and our friend?" Steven asked. "Sure, did you come to compete?" Pearl asked. "Pardon?" Pink Pearl asked, confused. "Oh I mean in the volleyball tournament" Pearl giggled with me a little. "Oh actually, we came here cause we need your help" Steven said. "Oh, what can I do for you?" Pearl asked. "So this is Pearl, she was mom's- I mean Pink Diamond's Pearl a long time ago too. You remember Pearl, she was also Pink Diamond's Pearl. Ah that's too many Pearls, we should probably give you a nickname" Steven said. "A nickname?" Pink Pearl smiled . "Yeah a nickname, you know-" Steven started. "Oh no, I know what a nickname is! It's just that it reminds me so much of Pink , she used to give silly little names to everything, she was so funny like that" Pink Pearl smiled. "Looks like someone's still got it bad" Pearl smiled, but too quietly for Pink Pearl to hear. "No kidding, it feels like I'm talking to past you" I said in the same tone. "What about-" Steven started as a volleyball came towards him but I threw it away back to the pitch. "Volleyball" Steven said as Pink Pearl and I laughed and Pearl smiled. "Volleyball? That's so funny! You're just like her" Pink Pearl said. "No no no, I'm not like- anyway we're here for the crack on her face" Steven said. "Oh poor thing,it's such a shame what White did to her" Pearl said as Steven turned pink. "Steven!" Pearl and I gasped. "It doesn't matter how it happened, what matters is finding out how to fix it. Nor mine or Opal's healing powers didn't work on her. We thought you'd know what to do" Steven said. "Well when Pearls were damaged, they were usually brought to the reef" Pearl said. "Yes, that's exactly what Pink would do!" Pink Pearl said. "Well I was her Pearl" Pearl smiled. "Me too! We were very close!" Pink Pearl said. "Hahaha, I love your energy, it reminds me of when I was younger" Pearl said. "I'm older than you" Pink Pearl smiled as I snorted and muffled a laugh as Pearl got hit with a volleyball.

"Here we are" Pearl said as we warped to the reef. "Woah! Cool!" I smiled. "Is this where Pearls are made?" Steven asked. "Were But Yes" Pearl said. "It also serves as a luxury boutique in a center for refurbish and repair" Pink Pearl said. "Haha, nice. This one's smarter than you P" I smiled as she raised her eyebrows at me. "Yes, just what I wanted to hear" Steven said, going to a hand thing and we pressed it at the same time. "Welcome Pink and Serenity Diamond" the voice said. "Oh no, we're Steven Universe and Opal Diamond?" Steven said. "Welcome Steven Universe and Opal Diamond. I am Shell" Shell said as I laughed. "Shell? Oh I get it, shell!" I laughed as they all looked at me in confusion. "Uh Hi Pearl, my friend Volleyball has a crack on her face and we were hoping you could fix it" Steven said. "Understood, please follow the illuminated path to the care centre" Shell said as we followed the path. Soon, we'll all be able to put the past behind us" Steven said, moving forward. "Don't worry Volleyball. I'll be right here, holding your hand" Pearl said, taking PP's hand. "Please feel free to take your time looking through our latest appearance modifiers as we make our way to the care centre" Shell said as Pink Pearl ran off, gasping. "What about you Pearl? Any rush of nostalgia?" I raised my eyebrows as I took her arm. "Please, Nothing like looking at glitzy stuff could get you nostalgic for a simpler time. I mean really, who even needs junk like this? " It's sweet that you have these kept but there's no need to be overly attached" Pearl said, clearly getting stressed. "Guys, can we keep moving?" Steven asked. "Yes let's. I've certainly had enough of this object" Pearl said, taking my arm and leading me to the care center. "Welcome to the care centre, we have everything here to update or repair any Pearl" Shell said. Pink Pearl got on the blue thing as I gave her a smile and a thumbs up. "Scanning in progress" Shell said. "So how do I look?" Pink Pearl asked. "I am sorry, there is nothing I can do" Shell said. "But you just told us you could repair any Pearl!" Steven said. "Stupid ripoff Pearl fixer, should have brought it from Amazon or something" I muttered. "Her physical form shows damage, but her Pearl is perfectly fine. This injure must have been so impactful that it continued to manifest even though her Pearl is perfectly fine" Shell said. "So it's like psychological?" Steven said. "That's absurd! I am fine" Pink Pearl said as her eye cracked more. "Um, are you sure about that?" I asked. "How could White be so careless?" Pearl asked. "I know right! And now she's like Snow White!" I said. "Oh no, you two have got it all wrong, Pink did this!" Pink Pearl said. "What did you say?" Pearl and I asked shocked. "Guys no" Steven whispered. "It's a funny story really, once Pink got tired of asking Yellow and Blue for her own colony so she went straight to White with Serenity, of course, White told her she wasn't fit to run one and that set her off!" PP said. "Set her off? What are you talking about?" Pearl asked. "You remember how she was with her destructive powers during a tantrum, throwing left and right,she had a scream that could crack the walls. She didn't mean to hurt me or Serenity, we just happened to be standing too close to her that time" Pink Pearl said. "It doesn't matter, I'm gonna fix it" Steven said. "Destructive powers? Pink didn't have destructive powers she was a healer! She didn't throw tantrums, she kept her feelings secret" Pearl said. "The Pink I knew couldn't keep a secret to save her gem" PP said. "Are you kidding? If anything she was too good at keeping secrets, even from me! " Pearl said. "Guys. I think we're breaking Steven-" I started. "Stop it! I can't deal with one more horrible thing she did, okay? I don't wanna hear about it, I don't even wanna think about it! " Steven yelled, turning Pink. "Steven!" I yelled. "I just want to fix it!" Steven yelled as I clung to Pearl, hugging her waist. Pink Pearl was making terrified noises so I knelt down and hugged her. "I am terribly sorry for the trouble these defective Pearls and Diamond have given you-" Shell started. "Rude" I yelled. "For gems making problems this severe, rejuvenation is required" Shell said. "Oh no, not again" I hugged Pink Pearl close. There was muffled voices outside as the shell closed around me, Pearl and PP. There was suddenly a sharp pain in my stomach, which grew as we were rejuvenated slowly. I knelt down and started breathing really loudly, hyperventilating many times. "I'm sorry,Opal, Volleyball. For not believing you Volleyball. It looks like I'm still trying to make excuses for her" Pearl said. "Is that what I've been doing? But she didn't mean to!" Pink Pearl said. "But you two were hurt! Badly hurt!" Pearl said. "I was badly hurt, how did you stop hurting?" PP asked. "I didn't" Pearl hugged PP and they fused. "Oh my stars, oh my stars, oh my stars, oh my stars!" I said excitedly. Suddenly the new fusion was holding me, me staring up at her with stars in my eyes. "You fused!" Steven said. "Yeah, way to state the obvious Steven!" I yelled back. "Warning, unauthorised entity found in the facility. Defence activated!" Shell said as stuff started attacking Mega Pearl and me. "Quick! Let's go back to the entrance to shut down the reef!" Steven said as Mega Pearl picked Steven up too. There was a whole lot of action when suddenly Mega Pearl got stuck. "It's up to you two now" Mega Pearl said as we were thrown at a hole and Steven held me close as we skated around on his shield. We switched a button and the reef deactivated. Mega Pearl looked at us admiringly as we hyperventilated.

Steven and I sat on the beach, me looking up at the stars. Mega Pearl came up and looked at the sea. "I'm so sorry, the whole trip was for nothing" Steven said. "No it wasn't for nothing, your mother's Pearls never had the whole picture, one knew your mother was trying to change, but she couldn't understand why, the other never expected her to change at all now I get to understand everything, now they finally get to have each other" Mega Pearl said. "Said like a true Pearl" I said sleepily as they unfused as PP leaned her head on Pearl's shoulder.
