I was flying for almost a day until I saw smoke in the distance. I looked at my GPS and saw that it was New Vancouver.

"Shit.." I whispered to myself. I felt like I was headed into a death trap.
I thought long and hard about this, and I still couldn't believe it. The
whole entire UNIVERSE... Depends on just me. I was interrupted when my stomach started growling for food. I ignored it for now, and examined the city from afar..

Jesus.. The city was smoldering and it reeked of death.

Seemed like classic Vancouver to me - heh.

I set my plane down in a field not to far from the city entrance. I got out and looked around. It was peaceful, and the city was huge. Very huge..
"This is gonna be a breeze," I said to myself sarcastically. I walked to the entrance and some man looked at me weird. He was a rabbit wearing a ripped shirt and jeans.

I stopped and observed a tall tower. Full glass windows, and a blinking light on the top. Suddenly I froze... Another vision came into my head.
It was Arthas, over a pile of dead bodies with their eyes still open.. I fell to the ground, light headed.  How am I gonna find this thing?

Once I got to the heart of the city, it got crowded. If I had to guess, about 500-600 thousand people lived here before the attack, along with pilots. Now? Who knows..

"C'mon Tails, focus." I whispered.  I looked right, and the tingling raised.

 "That way."

My stomach growled again. Luckily there was a burger joint nearby named Zappis burgers. So I decided to head in. But right before I opened the door, I noticed a shrine looking place. I'm guessing because of the attack here a few days ago.

I have to find that galaxy sword.. Fast. I walked to a curb where a busy street was.
I looked to my left. Nothing.
I looked to my right. Nothing..
Up? Nope...
I looked down...
Something?
The real question was, how do I get to it? I noticed a sewage cap in the road.

"Time for a disguise." I said to myself. A costume store was nearby, so I walked in and examined the building. There were party supplies and candy bags on the left side, and the costumes were on the right. I went left and I picked out some candy to help settle my stomach.

"Now for a disguise." I walked over to the right side of the store and examined what options they had.. And one jumped out at me. It was a street worker costume, with some fake cones. Perfect!  I grabbed it and I went to the front to buy it, along with the candy.

"Hello." An old badger said behind me. He was wearing round glasses and had some party supplies for what looked like his grandsons birthday party.

"Hi there." Of course my young sided self decided to reply. I purchased the costume and walked out.

What was I thinking?! I can't  be making new friends.. Not now at least.

I walked to a back alley and put the costume on after I made sure no one noticed.

"Okay, mind the traffic." I put my hand up to stop a car from going over the sewage cap. I put cones around the cap and lifted the lid, ignoring the angry drivers.

"C'MON! WE HAVE PLACES TO BE!" One man yelled out. People started honking and yelling at me. I just waved them off and climbed down and splashed down into a puddle.

"EW.."  I shivered in disgust. "Gross!"

I could barely see, so I pulled out my goggles. Its lenses can scan up to miles, with night vision and tempered glass. I decided to switch to night vision.

"GAH!" My heart was racing, thanks to a king sized rat. "Shoo!" I yelled. It ran off squeaking in fear.

I need to get out of here.. I turned on the scanner, desperate to get out of this maze of stankyness.

Nothing.. Must be a new installation. "I'll just wing it."

I used my senses. My only navigation was the case of the tingles. "It's gonna be a long ride." I whispered to myself, trying to ignore the smell of sewage as best I could. I started walking. And thinking..

Am I an actual guardian of the universe? How do I know when I'm close?

I stopped at an intersection. "Well shit, which way now?" It goes left, straight, and right. Except the right fork in the road was completely destroyed. "Hmm.. Left it is."

I was still walking when I heard a blood curdling screech, like someone wailing in agony. I turned around and looked into the pitch black darkness. "Hello?" I said shakily. I was scared, unprepared. I slowly stepped closer, and heard another scream. I grabbed my flashlight and tried to turn it on, but my hands were shaking in fear.

The flashlight clicked on..

And there were black monsters crawling all over the walls. One opened its mouth in three sections and screeched, triggering the rest of them.

"HOLY SHI-" I didn't wait to finish the sentence. I ran and ran, hoping to lose them. I took random turns and looked back to see if they were gone.

"NOPE."

They were right on my two tails. I decided to take a left.

"Wrong turn!" I fell down a waterfall, trying to propel myself, but the force of the water falling on top of me was too strong. "OH GOD OH GOD!" I hit the water, and blacked out.

...

I woke up as I was sinking under water. "MMF." I swam up as fast as I could, trying to hold whatever air I had left in me. I could feel my lungs start to hurt, and then my cheeks... I couldn't take it anymore, I opened my mouth and gagged as water began filling my mouth.

Almosssssst... There!  I made it to the bank of a mini underground island.

"GAH!" I coughed out sewage water and wheezed, my lungs desperate for air. My stomach started hurt. So I forced my finger down my throat, and triggered my muscles to throw up, hopefully getting the sewage out of my system..

I lay there for a moment, gaining my senses back. "Woah," I looked up, observing an old sanctuary, "This definitely is a new installation." I got up, and walked toward the building. The tingling in my body was replaced with fear.

"What if I'm a bad guardian.. What if I turned corrupt like Arthas..?" I thought for a moment..

"No. I refuse to be afraid. I've been afraid my whole life, and that needs to change... Now." I walked closer, ready to make this thing official. I slowly reached for the door, and before I touched it, a loud boom came from the shrine, and echoed into the distance.. The doors opened and revealed it...Her..The sword..

I could sense its power.. It was like the heat of a hyper-giant star.. And this was only a galaxy sword. I wonder how the universal sword will feel? Voices and images began filling my head. I was one foot away, and I slowly reached for her.. And as soon as I touched the handle-

-Everything went black.
