Adelaide woke up to quiet voices. Wrapping the cover around herself she walked out of the room and onto the landing. Heavy footsteps made her freeze in her place. Coming face to face with a stranger was not what she wanted from her morning. Noticing that the man's suit was made out of two different types of material, much like Harvey's, Adelaide was presuming this man worked for him. Ignoring the stare he was sending her way, she walked quickly down the stairs.

Harvey was quietly talking to two other men. When they peered over his shoulders to look at her, he stopped. He didn't like being ignored, Adelaide knew that. She also knew they'd be in for one hell of a lecture and venting later on. That's only if Harvey's more blunt side didn't decide to kill them there and then. "Addy," Harvey stepped forward. "Morning."

"Who're the new guys?"

"You said it yourself, new guys. That's all you need to know about them." Harvey said simply. Adelaide nodded, she wasn't going to press this.

Instead she placed a hand on his arm and smiled at him. "Good morning, Harvey." Giving his arm a gentle squeeze she turned and walked off in an effort to find food.

"They're going to help us get into Wayne Manor? For real?" Adelaide leaned her head away from the pillows.

Harvey nodded and looked down at her. "Are you ready?"

"Harvey, do I look it?"

"You better get ready or else we'll drag you out in what you're wearing."

"But what I'm wearing isn't suitable party wear!"

"We don't care."

"Fine," mumbling to herself, Adelaide pushed herself away from the bed. "I'll go shower and get ready."

"Don't be too long though!" He called after her, she waved over her shoulder at him and disappeared into the en suite.

It honestly didn't take her long though to shower and find something to wear. Harvey crossed his arms and looked at Adelaide. "What? Why are you looking at me like that?"

"You look pretty."

"Thank you," Adelaide smiled sheepishly at him. With the stolen mob money she'd gone out to buy some essentials. Food, drink, toiletries, clothes, shoes. The emerald flowing dress she was currently wearing came from one of those shopping trips. Putting an arm around her shoulders, he led her out of the building. It took them a matter of minutes to get to, and into, Wayne Manor. The spacious building was abuzz with noise. Adelaide looked around and quickly spotted Bruce talking to Mort.

Harvey's arm tightened around her. "Do you want to go say hello, Addy?"

"I'm the ice breaker, aren't I?"

"Yes, I'll be with you shortly."

"Oh, that sounds so certain. Don't abandon me for hours like you did the last time we were at a party." Adelaide smirked. Pushing her curled hair over on shoulder as she walked away. Harvey rolled his eyes and stayed back observing the moment. Choosing when was best to intervene. He watched as Bruce looked at Adelaide oddly. Harvey also watched as Mort looked her up and down. Gritting his teeth he walked forward. Linking an arm around Adelaide's waist he tightened his grip and pulled her close. She let out a startled sound, but she didn't try and get out from his grasp.

"Harvey, don't harm her."

"What?" Harvey sounded generally confused. "I couldn't," he said so quietly that Adelaide was the only one who heard him. She gasped and looked up at him. Giving her a small smile, he looked back at Bruce. "Let me think," Harvey mused while producing a gun from his pocket. "If I were to harm her, what would you do? What could you do? What would you say to stop me?" Harvey frowned. "Perhaps you'll preach about how you believe in Gotham, in justice and in Harvey Dent. It's ironic, if the Riddler were here he'd asked what those three things had in common." Harvey smiled lightly at the thought.
