"Francis," the young Queen of Scotland worried, looking up at the turning clouds. "I think it's going to rain." she admitted, looking down at their clothing. Her pretty Dauphin looked up from the remnants of their picnic, looking at his fiance, before up at the clouds. He shrugged.

"It'll be fine." he shushed, stabbing a piece of cheese with the knife he had recently whittled for her, holding it up to her lips. "Relax, my love." he stated, smiling when she flushed in pleasure at the pet name, sinking her teeth around the silver, before pulling back, chewing on the small piece of brie.

He leaned over the picnic basket, pressing his back against the old Willow tree that held their memories, extending a hand out to cup her soft cheek to bring their lips together once again. Mary made a small noise of pleasure, gripping his wrist in a gentle grip as their lips continued to dance. Not in a passionate waltz like they had on the night of Count Vincent's attack, but just a simple kiss that allowed them to feel the pleasure of their lips on each others.

They had been out here for a while now. Francis had wanted to surprise her with a picnic to celebrate the week they had been officially together. Henry was still absent from the castle, still trying to settle some unrest in the North East. So, he and Catherine shared the regency, but since his mother was doing a fine job and the man's word or approval wasn't needed, he was free to spend a few hours with the woman he loved.

Mary pulled away, a soft wine leaving her lips when air became an issue. He chuckled at her fondly, running his fingers through her soft, beautiful hair. Mary leaned her head onto his hand. He leaned over for another kiss, completley enamoured with this strange, unique beauty that had completley captured his heart and his soul. It was hers for the taking, he never wanted it back.

They pulled away at an unsettling gargle above them. Looking up, the Dauphin of France saw that the clouds that had once been nonexistent cover them and become worryingly dark. Mary bit her lip, inhaling slowly.

"It's going to rain," he said again.

"Yes, I believe it is." he stated. "You hurry into the castle, I'll collect all the food and the blanket." he stated. Mary nodded and kissed him again, before walking away from him and over to the castle. But the Queen of Scotland didn't make it ten steps before water started to suddenly pelt at them.

"Francis!" she cried in shock as the rain suddenly started coming down, the water cold. Hurrying his duties, the Dauphin took long steps over towards his future Queen and took her arm, hurrying her along towards one of the doorways, cringing as the rain slid down the back of his neck.

Mary wined, feeling her dress start to stick to her calves. She looked down at her feet, knowing the fit Kenna was going to throw when the hedonistic young girl saw the state of Mary's new shoes.

"Wait," Francis breathed.

"What?" Mary gasped. "Francis, it's-"

"Yes, yes, I know." he let the blanket and the basket drop. "I just want to look at you."

"I'm sure I'd be more appealing when-" she was cut off by his lips against hers. Mary's reservations melted away at his kiss. She threaded her arms around his neck and tangled her fingers into the wet blonde mane, holding him closer. It was such an intoxicating kiss, the heat of his lips and the passion mixing with the coldness of the rain.

He pulled away from her, leaning his forehead onto hers. By now, they were both completley drenched by the water, but now, neither of them cared.

"I love you." he breathed against her lips.

Mary smiled gently. "I love you, too." she swore.
