When we got to the Dragon Fields we came at one of the worse times. It was dragon hatching season. If we found an egg right as it hatches and one of us is the first the baby dragon the baby will bond to us and we are free to leave with it. However, the mothers are over protective of their eggs and it's suicide to even think of getting close.

"It would be so cool if a dragon bonded with me," Lui said as we went in after signing the paperwork. "They're a lot of work to care for," Balthazar told him. "That's what slaves are for," Lui said with a wave of his hand. Balthazar then instructed him to stay quiet as we ventured in further. There were many males, relaxing on the outer parts of the fields, too scared to get closer to their mates until after the eggs are hatched. Lui used his phone to capture many photos of the dragons, and even some of his father. When we got to the large nest we crouched down by a rock to look at it. "That's a lot of eggs," Lui whispered. He then started recording a video on his phone for when the eggs hatch.

Balthazar was busy paying attention to the dragons flying above in case they did a dive attack while I was watching the dragons on the ground. I then noticed some Drakes out of the corner of my eye. They were four legged dragons who were wingless, but just as dangerous. One of them went to breathe fire at us, and I dove for the two males, pushing them out of the way of the flames. Balthazar shot into the air with Lui, as the attack caught the attention of more of the females, both in air and on ground. Balthazar out maneuvered the dragons in the air with Lui in his arms, using his magic to keep them back. I fought off the others without much problem. The beasts were highly dangerous, but I was far faster them. As I fought them off, I hadn't realized I had gotten close to the nest of eggs. I heard the cracking of a shell, but I didn't dare look at it. I then noticed the mothers didn't dare attack me by their eggs, in case they hurt their eggs.

Balthazar and Lui landed beside me after noticing the same as me. I heard another crack and looked down at the egg by my foot. I saw a little sapphire eye peeking at me through the egg. It then became extremely happy and burst through the shell. It's body was covered in white shimmery scales that reminded me of freshly fallen snow. It was an ice dragon. They were native to the cold tundras north of us. I then heard Lui laughing. I turned and saw him holding a grey scaled baby dragon that was licking his face happily. I saw Balthazar staring down a baby wyvern that was red with black wings and silver eyes.  Wyverns were native from what was once known as the Rocky Mountains. "This was not what I planned," Balthazar said with a grumble as he picked it up. I felt the baby ice dragon begin to climb up my leg. I looked down at it and it looked up at me with the most cutest of eyes.

I was a slave. No way I could have a pet. "Help it before it falls and gets injured," Balthazar told me. Okay I thought as I picked it up and held it like a child against my chest with an arm under its bottom. It laid it's head on my shoulder. "So how do we get out of here," Lui asked his father. Balthazar looked around. I saw a few chances I could escape easily with Lui, but not with these dragons. I then turned to Balthazar, "If you take the babies, I can take Lui and get out of here safely." He studied my eyes, "If anything happens to him, I will kill you and your pet." He then took them and I turned to Lui. "I need you to get on my back and hold on tight." He looked to his father who nodded at him. I drew my swords as Lui got on my back. I then tapped into my Fae speed and ran towards the dragon. I jumped as one slammed a clawed fist on to the ground. I landed on the fist then ran up the arm. I then proceeded to run down it's back before sliding quickly down its tail. Once on the ground again, I kept running, not daring to look back.

I ducked and dodged the various attacks until I got to the entrance of the fields. When we got to a certain part, a force field kept them back. I let Lui down and he was jumping around with his phone, "That was so wicked." He jumped around in excitement as he watched the video he had apparently taken on his phone during the whole ordeal.

"I think that's enough excitement for one weekend," Balthazar said as the babies leaped from his arms. I barely caught the white one while the other one knocked Lui to the ground. He laid there for a moment laughing as the dragon wagged its tail. The one that claimed Balthazar sat on his shoulder, watching us. I held the white dragon out at arms length.

"Its a pet Azula," Lui said to me. "I am aware, but I'm a slave," I told him. "Dad, can she keep it," Lui asked him. "It bonded to her." "I see no need to kill an innocent creature. Ensure you clean up after it, and you can keep it," He told me. I looked at the dragon, then back at him and I felt this strange feeling come over. I pulled the dragon back to my chest, "Yes sir."

When Mokoto pulled up, we got into the limo. "I'm going to name you Destroyer," Lui declared as he looked down at his dragon. I looked at mine that was curled up in my lap sleeping. What was I gonna name it?

Lui then began to talk to Prince Balthazar about what it was like to ride on my back as I ran from the life threatening beasts that chased us. When we got home I went to the kitchen to prepare food for the dragons since they were probably hungry after being newly hatched. They sat on the counter, watching me intently.

I placed their food in front of them. Destroyer scarfed his down, not bothering to chew it first. He then tried to take from Balthazar's dragon. His snapped at Destroyer, surprising Destroyer bad enough to cause him to stumble clumsily, off of the counter. Not caring what happened to Destroyer, he went back to eating. Destroyer was then off to run around the mansion. When the others finished, I helped them on to the floor before cleaning up. Balthazar's left the kitchen, while mine curled up on the floor, watching me.

I sighed as I finished washing the dishes. "Were you injured," Balthazar said suddenly. I gasped and turned around in shock. "I didn't hear you come in," I told him. My brain then registered he asked me a question. I shook my head, "No sir. Were you?" He shook his head, "I was not." I then bowed my head, "Thank you for letting me keep her sir." "Do not bow to me," He told me. "You saved my son without an order." "I would do it for anyone sir," I confessed to him. "Why is that," he asked me. "Because of something my mother told me many years ago. I am unable to remember her face, but I can remember the last thing she ever said to me. She told me to be better than those that hurt me. My whole life I've been surrounded by those who would never risk their life to save another, so when given the chance, I do."

"You are a strange woman," he told me. "You are a prisoner of war, turned into a slave used as I see fit, yet you follow a Demonic religion, and you don't hold an ounce of hatred towards demons. That is very strange." "It's because I don't blame the demons. It was vampires who killed my family. It was witches who were going to use me as some mindless zombie to fight for them. It was werewolves who starved me. It was water fae who nearly drowned me as a sacrifice for their gods. But, it was demons who gave me a bed. Gave me an education. They even gave me three meals a day. And you have given me something I can call my own, despite still being a slave. It may sound strange, but I am loyal to demons because if it was some other race in charge, I probably wouldn't still be here today, or I would be in some dark place wishing for death," I shared with him.

He studied me, his face expressionless. He then nodded, "You still have the day off tomorrow to allow you to relax. Do as you please, just don't leave the property." He then walked away and I looked down at my dragon. What does one do on a day off? I guess it will have to be something I figure out on my own.
