Ashton walked back to class in a daze.

Luke never told him he had a girlfriend!

Varia was so forward and blunt, she scared Ashton a little.

He thought about their encounter and cringed.

"Varia." She said. She looked him over. "I'm Luke's girlfriend. Who the fuck are you and why did you disappear into the janitors closet with my boyfriend?"

"I...what?" Ashton blinked.

"Listen." She walked forward and jabbed Ashton's chest, making the boy step back. "Luke loves me, and I love him. He's not gay like you, so get any ideas like that out of your head." She glared. "Luke. Is. Mine."

"I- I'm not gay!" Ashton blinked furiously.

"Whatever." She looked him over again before turning on her heel and walking away.

"Possessive much?" He mumbled. He didn't feel the need to tell Luke about his and Varia's encounter though.

So what if Luke had an over protective girlfriend? It had nothing to do with him!

He arrived back at the room and the teacher gave him a look for being gone so long but didn't say anything.

His phone vibrated again and he glanced at the text from Luke.

Ashton inhaled so suddenly he choked and coughed.

Ashton put his phone away and smiled.

Luke spotted Ashton walking outside and he quickly ran up behind him.

He placed his hands over the smaller boys eyes and whispered. "Guess who?"

"Please be Luke." Ashton stopped walking.

"You're in luck." Luke removed his hands and grabbed Ashton's hand, leading him to his car.

"Phew." Ashton rolled his eyes.

Luke pulled 50$ out of his pocket and handed it to Ashton.

"Are you gunna be okay with doing this?" Luke asked as Ashton took the money.

Ashton stared at the money with wide eyes. He nodded slowly. "I believe so."

"Do you want a ride?" Luke asked. "I think your bus just left."

Ashton whirled around and watched as his bus pulled away and drove off.

He sighed. "Yeah. Thanks."

He climbed into the passenger seat and Luke got in beside him.

"So, you're gunna be my nerd?" Luke asked hopefully.

"I prefer the term, 'smart helper'." Ashton said.

Luke shrugged. "Okay. But you accept my offer, right? This can be a regular thing?"

Ashton nodded. "Yeah...I guess."

"Excellent!" Luke beamed and started driving. "This is so amazing!"

"Then why do I feel so sick?" Ashton whispered.
