A Strange Homecomeing

Where We Are

"Awe now isn't that just the most adorable thing ever?"

"Shut up Ryan you'll wake her!"

"Whatever you say lover boy."

"Don't ever call me that again." Goldy's eyes flutter open a tiny bit and glance around the room.

"Mmm...Huh?" She mumbles.

"Now look what you did." Unicorn mutters glaring pointedly at Ryan. Ryan grins and leans back against the railing.

"Good afternoon Goldy. Have a nice nap?" Goldy smiles and nods.

"Mhm yah..." she wakes up a little more and takes in the scene she's woken into. Ryan is leaned against the railing grinning smugly at her. She was curled up on the bed a blanket around her cuddled up next to Unicorn and...crud.

"Ah!" Goldy squeals as she jumps and falls off the bed. She hastly scrambles to her feet blushing bright red. "I'm so sorry, I'm so so sorry Unicorn I didn't mean to fall asleep and...and everything." Unicorn shrugs and looks away.

"It's no big deal." Ryan giggles.

"Why yah smiling Unicorn? You like it and you know it, both of you!" Goldy stares at her feet flushing bright red. Last night come flooding back to her and her mind is screaming "He kissed me he kissed me! I kissed him! Oh boy..." Unicorn rolls his eyes.

"Shut up Ryan. Why are you even here? Doesn't the tea shop open in five minutes?" Ryan gasps.

"Tea!" He vaults over the railing and bolts out of the tree house. Unicorn chuckles and shakes his head.

"That guy huh? Man what a world..." Goldy nods and turns her face away so he can't see her blushing. "Y-yah he's really something!" She says laughing a little. Unicorn stands up and walks over to her. Goldy quickly looks down her hair falling in her eyes. Unicorn stands beside her and looks out at the view. They stand there in silence for some time. Finally Goldy takes a deep breath and shakily speaks up.

"I-Im sorry about l-last night...I-I wasn't thinking." Unicorn nods and smiles a little.

"It's fine really...I honestly thought I was dreaming." Goldy giggles in spite of herself.

"Why would you think you were dreaming?" Unicorn turns to face her and gently brushes her hair back out of her face. Goldy blushes and looks down. Unicorn looks away and mumbles softly,

"I-I didn't think that could ever happen...outside of a dream."

"I remember what you said..." Unicorn looks up.

"What?" Goldy takes a deep breath and summons her courage.

"I-I remember what you said. That night out in the snow when you came back...do you remember what I said?" Unicorn blushes a little and looks down. He nods a little.

"Y-yah..." Goldy steps closer and gently touches the healing blood stained mark along his temple.

"I meant it you know...and I still do." She mutters. Unicorn smiles shyly.

"So did I. More than you would ever be able to understand. " Goldy giggles a little and sings softly.

"You know yah you know we ain't friends anymore." Unicorn laughs softly blushing and quietly sings.

"If we walk down this road we'll be lovers for sure..." Goldy smiles and hugs him.

"So tonight...kiss me like it's do or die." She mumbles. Unicorn hugs her back and whispers.

"And take me to the other side..." Goldy smiles and to her surprise hears her voice say.

"I love you Unicorn..." She blushes red and hides her face. "I mean..ah..." she laughs a little nervously.

 "I'm just glad I know where we are." Unicorn smiles shyly.

"Me too." Goldy blushes and looks down.

 "H-hey um...I'm helping organize the homecoming dance. Do you wanna help me?" Unicorn smiles and nods.

"I'd love too." He blushes and winks playfully. "And I love you too Sunflower." Goldy laughs and shoves him playfully.

"Alright then yah knucklehead let's get to work!"

Unicorn grins and salutes.

"Yes mam!"
