kaloni sat her phone down and tapped the screen. the phone rang until the noises of multiple people coming on.

"hello miss laney," corbyn said.

"hi corbyn."

"wassup with you?" zion asked.

"eh im just chilling," she hesitated.

"liar but go off," edwin laughed.

"fuck you!" she laughed.

"why did you call us?" jonah asked suspiciously.

"what? i can't just talk to my friends?" she remarked.

a chorus of "no's" echoed in the call.

"you guys are so mean and for what? like damn," she mumbled.

"what did you do kaloni?" brandon said.

"it's not what i did, its what im going to do," she told them.

"what are you going to do kaloni? i swear if you-" jack was cutoff.

"let's hear her out," it was daniel who cut him off.

she ignored daniel, "well, do you remember the whole mission thing?"

"wasn't that a joke? at least i thought it was, right?" nick said.

"it wasn't. apparently they want to send us out on our first mission. they think i'm ready and we have enough people. it'll just be everyone that lives here except banner and clint. clint is gone and banner, well you know," she carefully told them.

"goes green?" zach laughed.

"shut up zach," jonah grumbles.

"sorry. sorry."

"do you think you're ready, kallie?" austin asked.

"are you confident you'll be okay?" brandon added.

"yeah. i think i'll be okay. just kinda disappointed its on thursday so it'll be around harry's album release," she stifled laughter.

"what is it? like the mission." edwin asked.

"it's classified but it's hydra. i know i haven't suffered the worst with them but it's still, you know," she said.

"shitty? that's something that'll never be healed. that's okay. no expects you to just get over. you lost a lot, kaloni," corbyn said thoughtfully.

"and don't compare what happened to you and the others. it happened to them too. they get it. don't undermine your feelings. okay?" edwin told her.

"yeah. i'll do that," she said quietly.

"you're gonna be okay. i promise," zion encouraged her.

"i bet you'll get back before harry's album drops," daniel laughed.

"i hope," she said blandly.

he and her weren't on the best of terms. she found out through social media that she got cheated on. it was embarrassing to her. she would've rather gotten a text from the girl he cheated with.

"we got to hit the studio. i promise you, you'll be okay. we'll text you. okay?" jonah broke the silence.

"of course jonah. stay safe," the other boys said their goodbyes as well.

"i'm assuming you're busy too?," kaloni asked.

"we were writing when you called," nick said.

"oh god. im sorry," she sighed.

"hey, it's okay. i'll be home in less than a week. i can't wait to see you," edwin told her.

"i cant wait either. i'll let you go. i love you, bye," she said.

goodbyes were said and they disconnected.

she walked to her bed and plopped down.
