"You do know we're enemies, right?"

Tedros' smile faltered at her words. "Lyra, I'm sorry, alright. I really didn't mean what I said last t—"

"I know," Lyra cut him off. She gave him a tensed smile. "I know."

"Does that mean we're good?" Tedros asked with pleading eyes.

Lyra bit her lips. "I. . ."

I don't know. She thought.

"We're best friends, aren't we?" Tedros implored. "Are you seriously going to let my stupid mouth get in the way of that?"

Lyra couldn't help but crack a smile. "I've beared it for 10 years already, haven't I?"

"And now I'm asking that you bear it for 10 more." Tedros smile backed, evidently relieved at her response.

Lyra bit the inside of her cheek. "We're still going to have to fight though. We're on different sides, Ted. This friendship wasn't going to work out ever since I first came to this school."

Tedros let out a groan.

They were the last pair who have yet to go in. Though they only had to wait for 15 minutes, it felt like forever.

"First Sophie's acting weird, now you too? Why are girls always so problematic?"

Lyra snorted. "We're not problematic. It's just that you boys are too dense to understand anything."

Tedros didn't reply as he swallowed his saliva. "Sophie's been acting weird. She said she purposely failed to prove to me she could protect me. Like what rubbish is that?"

Tedros sighed as he continued. "But she's my princess, right? After all, she's the one. Isn't she?"

As much as Lyra wanted to laugh in his face that she was right about their relationship not working out, the doubt in his voice wouldn't let her. In the end, she just told him. "Follow your heart, Ted. That's all I can give you. Because, honestly, I don't know either."

To her surprise, Tedros smiled. "You're back again."

When Lyra's face remained confused, he continued, "You're back to yourself. You always act like you know everything but I know you have problems and questions too. Just like me."

Lyra couldn't help but blush at his words. That was the first someone said that to her.

"You really are my best friend, aren't you?" She said, finally cracking a smile.

"Of course I am," Tedros said as he moved towards her. He then held out his hand. "Good luck?"

She grinned at him as she shook his hand. "May the best win!"

"LAST PAIR READY!" Castor yelled.

The two separated. Just a few seconds ago they were friends. Now they were enemies, whether they liked it or not.

With that, Lyra felt herself get pushed into the spiders as they parted away, allowing her to go through.

The game of survival has begun. Lyra smiled under her cloak.

Lyra touched her cheek and wiped away the blood that covered it.

The blood wasn't hers, but an enemy's.

She had met two Ever boys, both which she had dropping their flags in a few minutes. Her sword's blade was covered with thick, red blood.

She had ran the sword through one of their stomach and the other she had pointed her sword at his throat, making him drop his flag immediately.
