19. and then there were four

Haley's P.O.V.

Since Adam and Bob broke all of our capsules, Davenport spent the past few weeks properly fixing them. It was a huge mess. All five of us mentors had to sleep in the spare capsules in the student dorms, and let me tell you, I did not miss sleeping in there. I cannot tell you how many people snore in there, Adam being one of them. It was a complete nightmare.

The five of us were all hanging out together in the freshly fixed mentors quarters. Adam and Leo were playing a game of foosball while Bree sat in the chair texting on her phone. Chase sat on the couch doing something smart and useful on his tablet while I laid on his shoulder watching an episode of Survivor on my phone. I'm on the twenty-fifth season, and I'm so hooked. I even make Chase watch it with me because what else would he rather do?

When Mr. Davenport walked in with a huge smile on his face, he said to us, "Good news, guys! I am totally free this weekend. No meetings, no conferences. Just two fun filled days with me."

Oh joy.

He held out his arms and smiled at us excitedly while the five of us just looked at each other uneasy. Then, Bree said to him, "So, no conferences at all? You know, if we looked really hard, I bet we could find you one."

He just gave her a look and asked, "Are you saying you don't want to hang out with me?"

"Well, if she's not, then I am," Adam spoke up before getting back to his game of foosball.

"What about you, Leo?" Davenport asked after rolling his eyes at Adam.

Leo just gave him an uneasy look before replying, "Uh, Big D, I'd love to, but I just... really don't want to."

Davenport just sent Leo a look in response before asking, "Haley?"

I finally sat up from Chase's shoulder and repeated, "Two days full of you?" He nodded excitedly in response before I deadpanned, "Pass."

He glared at me as I laid back down on Chase's shoulder. When I felt Chase start to sit up, like I knew he would, I pointed a finger at him and warned, "Don't even think about it." I felt him give me a look before leaning back onto the couch.

Then, to my surprise, Davenport said to Chase, "She's got a point. I've got a lot of work."

I stifled my laugh while Chase just gave Davenport a look. Thankfully, Douglas walked in to end this dreadful conversation. However, he had a serious, yet confused look on his face. It was the most un-Douglas expression I've ever seen in my life. Is he sick?

"Hey, Douglas," Davenport greeted with a weird look on his face, notching Douglas's expression.

I sat up again before asking, "Are you not feeling well? You actually look serious."

Surprisingly, my comment didn't phase him. He just looked at all of us in shock before saying, "I just got a call from Daniel."

We all looked at each other confused before Bree asked, "Who's Daniel?"

That's when Douglas shocked us all, "You're brother."

THEIR WHAT?! We all looked at each other shocked and confused. They have another brother? Why does the Davenport have so many family secrets? I swear, this family will never be normal.

"We have another brother?!" Chase asked in a shocked tone.

"I never told anyone," Douglas said. He took a deep breath before continuing, "I actually created four bionic superhumans: Adam, Bree, Chase, and Daniel."

We all just looked at each other in surprise, unsure what to say. Then, Leo asked Douglas, "Okay, what is it with you naming your kids in alphabetical order?!"
