The next morning, Donna woke up early. She placed a kiss on her husband's lips and, after checking Jake was still sleep, she got up and went in the bathroom.
She slowly took off her rope and, for a couple seconds, she just stared at her naked, still full of bruises, body which just by looking at it brought tears to her eyes.
She was completely lost in her thoughts and didn't even hear Sam getting into the bathroom.
He wrapped his arms around her waist, kissing her neck and in a second she was brought back in the basement where Lorraine kept her, the night Lucas came.

-NO! DON'T... DON'T DO IT PLEASE!- she cried trying to push him away.

Sam had no idea what was happening. He tried to reach out for her arm but she only screamed louder, making Jake cry as well from his crib -Donna, it's... it's me... What...-

-DON'T TOUCH ME!- she sobbed hysterically -STAY AWAY FROM ME!-

-Baby, it's... it's me- he choked putting his hands up -It's Sam, sweetheart... I... I would never hurt you. You're safe, my love... you're safe. You're at home, we are all here. Take a deep breath for me...-

Donna did as she was told and slowly started calming down. She looked around and started realizing what had happened -I... I...-

-It's okay, Donna- Sam choked trying to take her in his arms but she only moved away.

-N..no... It's... It's not- she whispered, shakily stopping him from touching her -I'm... I'm sorry... I... I can't...-

Sam was at loss for words. He didn't know what to do or say. He just watched his wife run outside, crying.
He wanted to follow her, to tell her everything was alright. He wanted to tell her she was safe but he he just felt like his feet were frozen and he couldn't move..

Rosie and Tanya had woke up early that morning and decided to take a walk together, waiting for a decent hour to go see how their dynamo.

-DONNA!- exclaimed Tanya, immediately going towards her, when she saw her best friend running and crying, falling on her knees as soon as she touched the sand.

-Chiquitita, what is it?- asked Rosie rubbing her back as Donna kept painting and crying -Talk to us, Don... you know you can trust us..-

-I fucked up- she cried burying her face in her hands -I... I completely lost it... I have to leave Sam... He ... He deserves better... He deserves normality... N...not me jumping at his... at his touch and confusing him with... with my kidnappers. He... doesn't deserve this...-

Tanya and Rosie exhanged a look and they felt both their hearts tighten.
-Oh sweetheart! After all you've been through, it's completely normal you act that way!- said Rosie stroking her hair -And I'm sure Sam understands it perfectly.-

-Rosie is right, D. Life has tried too many times to separate you two but you always find your way back to each other...- Tanya added -You... you just have to let him in-

Rosie was about to say something else when they heard Ruby's voice -Leaving Sam?! You must've lost your mind!-

-Ruby, not now- breathed Tanya protectively.

Donna didn't even look up at her and just kept crying in her best friends arms -Y... you're probably right.. I... I did...And that's exactly why he deserves to be... with... with someone else-

Ruby looked at Rosie and Tanya, excepting them to leave but, as much as they had appreciated her coming back for Sophie, they still didn't trust her alone with Donna. Not when they knew she needed nothing but support and they weren't sure if she was going to give that to her.

Ruby sighed and slowly kneeled down in front of her daughter, cupping her face in her hands -Donna, I know I have never been the best mother but I came back and, believe me, I barely knew him but it was clear how still devastated he was, but now you're back! Don't let what happened ruin your happiness-

Donna finally looked up at her mother and Rosie and Tanya knew that now she was in good hands.
-If you need us, just call and we'll be right there- Tanya whispered in her ear as they kissed the sides of her head, helped each other get up and gave them some privacy.

-What happened, Donna?- asked Ruby taking her hands in hers -Please... trust me...-

-I... It was late night- Donna started -I immediately woke up when I heard the door opening. It... it was Lucas, Lorraine's boyfriend. He... he said he wanted to help me but... He... he soon started placing kiss on my chest...-

Ruby looked at her daughter and her tears matched hers, fearing the answer of what she was going to ask -Did he... did he...-

Donna slowly shook her head -He.. he stopped, b..but I was... I was so scared, mom- Ruby immediately took her crying daughter in her arms -I...I thought... I thought...-

-But it didn't happen. Does Sam know about this?- she asked and the look in Donna's eyes told her everything -You have to do it, Donna. For both of you-

-I... I don't know if I can do it, mom- Donna whispered -He's been so caring and loving... I'm... I'm scared... I'm scared he would never look at me in the same way he used to-

-I don't think that will ever be a problem- Ruby smiled when she saw her son in law standing behind them with Jake in his arms.

-Nothing could ever change the way  I look at you, Donna- he choked, making his presence known...
