An abyss of whirlwind is but a challenge to find the eye,

A riptide of cuts and bruises to find where truth lie.

The challenge for many and many found defeat

but eternal peace for who see through discreet.

A hallway of marble and white appeared as soon as my eyes became used to the brightness. I was still squinting as I walked gingerly behind Mother and all I could do was look at my feet to make sure I kept my balance right while occasionally glancing at mother all while shielding my eyes with my arm. It felt like we've been walking forever. Mother's hand still grips mine tightly as we're walking side by side. My squint slowly disappears after a while and I lower my shield. I feel myself becoming less paranoid of my surroundings, I am quick to find astonishment from the full glory of each statue that catches my eye. The statues towered as high as the eye could see, all made of white and are identical to each. But the one difference of them all are the faces that differs to all and each, and each have unique features that divides them all. The quiet and the taps of our light steps fills the air with serenity, but I could not help but wonder where am I being taken to.

Mother stops. I almost trip by the sudden stop. I was in daze from the long walk but I snapped to look around to see what had changed. I turn my head rapidly looking around and back to Mother. Mother stared straight forward sternly as if looking at something within the emptiness in front of us. I switch my stares between Mother's eyes and in front and it only brings more questions.

Then without a moment of notice, the entire frontal view warps and distorts into itself. I took a step back stunned at what I was witnessing. It was almost as if I'm hiding behind Mother's back as she stood there unfazed with the same stern look on her face. Finally, when the distortion came to a settle, a figure of a monstrously huge being covering my entire field of vision as tall or taller than the statues itself.

The giant was white as if it was the source of all light itself. However, when the details comes into my eyes, I could only see a creature of abundant putridness. Its head lacked skin or muscles and all that left was a thick but pristine white structures that attached giant cords of smooth and perfect hair. Its teeth were exposed, dry and in near mint conditions almost as if a perfect set of mirrors that bounces all light that shines on it. Of the teeth, there are these two set of large elongated tusks that extended out from the top canines that reached down its chin. Its nose is missing and what remains there is a perfect upside down heart shaped crater. Finally, the most outstanding detail was its eyes. It has a bright pearly eye that looked almost as if it gave off its own shine with a large rectangular black void that contrasted from everything, as if it absorbed every light that shines into it, surrounded by a well of deep and bright red layered with black branches that random throughout the redness. Fortunately, or unfortunately, its thick hair hanged down and covered the other eye. It sat straight up against a throne that was at least two times bigger than itself made of pristine marbling material outlined with gold. Its arms rests on either side with its hands curled up.

It feels as if waves of cold energy were oscillating in every direction. Cold sweat broke out running down my neck and all I could was stand legs-shaking, petrified staring up at this thing and surrender my sanity to this monstrosity. Its eyes was staring down at me menacingly with large lengthy random twitches. Mother was not taken aback but this, however. Mother stood there firmly head-raised and glared back unaffected by the overwhelming feeling of danger that stood in front of us.

"Azriel." The behemoth rumbled out a roar without opening its mouth. The voice echoed through the skies and drums against my ears almost blowing out my hearing. I could feel my body vibrate from the shock waves that coursed through me and rattled everything within me. Mother stepped forward gracefully with their hands cupped on their stomach. "Father." Mother replied with not an emotion in her tone. The change in her tone while talking to me was drastic to this. It was almost as if they became a different person.
