Chapter five: Hard Goodbyes

The next morning Peter woke up early and he ran all the way to Tony's room eager to wake him up. However on the way he ran into Stane who for once didn't look unhappy to see him, "your sure up early kid, " he commented and Peter flinched. Stane always made him feel very uneasy but he wasn't sure, "you probably shouldn't wake up Tony yet, he's not really a morning person. Come with me to the kitchen, we'll wait for him together. " Stane said taking Peter by the hand, Peter didn't like it, unlike Tony's grip that was gentle and strong, Stane's felt forced and unkind. Just then Tony came out and saw Stane trying to drag Peter away, "Obi what the hell?! " Tony literally screamed causing Peter to jump, he didn't like loud noises. "Oh Tony I was hoping you would sleep in a bit, so I wouldn't have to tell you but now that your up I guess I have too. I found the kid's parents, they're coming to get him at 11, " Tony felt his heart drop at those words, he didn't want Peter to leave. "Are you sure its them, I can't just give Peter to some random couple I need proof, " Tony said hoping that he wouldn't have to let Peter, when just last night he had decided he was going to adopt him. "Relax Tony, I did a DNA and it checks out, they're Mary and Richard Parker. " Stane clarified and he walked away leaving the two alone, neither of them noticed but Stane had a smirk on his face as he left the room. Tony sat in slience not knowing what to say or think, "no sad, " Peter said not aware of what was happening but he didn't want Tony to be sad. "I don't think that's going to work this time buddy, " Tony said his voice cracking and picking up Peter. 'This can't really happening can it, I mean he can't really be leaving me, he's only two and half. ' Tony wanted to cry, he really did, which is something he almost never did. If he cried as a child his father would lecture him and tell him to man up, but here he was about to burst into tears in front of a kid he had met only about eight months ago. Peter didn't like the distress he was seeing in Tony, he didn't understand anything what was happening, why was Stane suddenly being nice to him and why was Tony so sad. "pease no sad, " Peter said trying to hug Tony, "I can't help it bud, your mommy and daddy are coming to get you, and I don't know if we're ever going to see eachother again. " Tony explained still holding back his tears but his attempts seemed to futile, "no I stay, " Peter declared, he didn't want to go, he wanted to stay with Tony. "no go pease, " Peter begged starting to tear up, "Tony what's going on? " Pepper asked walking in on the two of them, "Stane found his parents Pep, Peter is leaving later today. " Tony explained and by this point he couldn't hold back the tears anymore, and Peter was also crying now. "No go pease, " Peter cried out

The rest of the day didn't go smoothly, Pepper had to pack up all of Peter's things and Tony was to fazed by all this to even work, all he could do was try not to cry as he watched the hours pass by. Too be honest Peter wasn't doing to much better, he tried hiding in his room so Pepper couldn't find him, that way he wouldn't have to leave. But eventually the time came and when Tony heard the knock on the door, he swore that his heart almost stopped beating. When he opened the door, a women in her late twenties with long brown hair and blue eyes stood there along with a man around the same age with black hair and brown eyes. "Mr. Stark, thank you for looking after my little boy, we've been searching such a long time for him. " The woman said unexpectedly embracing him, "it was.. my pleasure, " he said softly hoping they didn't notice all the emotions he was holding in. Pepper then came out of Peter's room carrying a bag of his toys along with a suitcase with all his clothes, Peter slowly followed her but he looked very upset. "Oh sweethart, I can't believe we finally found you, " The woman said trapping Peter in a hug, something about the hug felt forced and Peter didn't like this strange woman, who was she and why was she and that man taking him away from Tony and why wasn't Tony trying to stop them? "No go, " Peter said "we've got so much to talk about kiddo but first we need to get home, " the man ushering Peter towards the door. "No please wait, let me have a moment with him please, that's all I ask since this may be the last time we see eachother. " Tony begged and the couple agreed, "Pete I just want you to know that you have made me happier then anyone ever has. Now if there's ever a problem and you need me don't hesitate to come and get me, okay? " Tony asked tearing up and Peter began crying again, but what he said next never left Tony's mind "daddy I wanna stay pease, " he cried hugging Tony tightly and the moment between them was heartbreaking, Pepper even found herself tearing up at the scene. "I know but you can't, you need to be with your family not me, I always knew this day might come but I never thought it be this painful. " Tony admitted holding the small child close to him, "I wuv you daddy, " Peter cried "I love you too. " Tony said reluctantly letting Peter go, and his 'parents' took him away.
