"We shouldn't be here," Cade said to Shado as the boarded a pod and found some open seats. "We should be out there fighting right now."

"You mean out there dying?" Shado replied. "If anybody can defeat the One Sith, the Jedi Masters can. We'd only just get in the way. Before being slaughtered, of course."

"So what? We're just supposed to sit here and do nothing?"

"No, we're supposed to escape with our lives and continue the Jedi order!"

"My father is out there fighting right now," Cade said. "And so is our master. I think that we have a duty to help them."

"We have a duty to obey their orders! They orders us to evacuate the planet, and I intend on doing just that. And maybe your father and our master will be fine, and they'll escape too. But they won't if they have us weighing them down."

"Well maybe you're ri—aagh!" Cade doubled over as he felt pain like never before in his head.

"What's wrong?" asked Shado, looking over at Cade.

But Cade couldn't respond. He blacked out and suddenly he could see his father and Wolf, fighting the One Sith on what had become a battleground. It was as if he was dreaming, or better yet in a vision. He could see clearly as Sazen and Kol spun the lightsabers against those of the Sith. He could see the Sith that Sazen was fighting duck under a blow and stab his saber toward Sazen. The lightsaber went through Sazen, who fell to the ground and didn't move. And then Cade woke back up.

"What happened?" Shado asked him as Cade bolted out of his seat.

"It's Sazen, he's down. I have to go help my father, he's all alone now."

"Wait, no we can't go—"

"Then don't come with me!" Cade shouted. "Just stay here, you coward."

With that, Cade ran to the entrance and jumped from the pod, running toward where he knew his father was making his stand.

"Father!" Cade yelled as he approached his father, who was fighting off three Sith at once. One of the Sith turned to look at Cade, and Kol successfully struck him down. Cade ignited his lightsaber and ran at one of the two remaining Sith. The Sith met his lightsaber and quickly overpowered Cade. Before he could finish the job, though, Kol ran him through with his lightsaber, leaving only one more for him to fight.

"My son!" Kol exclaimed. "You must get back to the pod! Take Wolf with you."

"No, I must fight here with you!"

"I have not sensed the death of Wolf yet. You must get him back to the ship immediately."

"I can't leave you here to fight alone," Cade protested.

"You are so brave, my son," Kol said, taking a moment to smile at Cade before returning to his fight. "But you must do this. Save your master."

Cade wanted to further protest, but there was no use. Cade picked up Wolf in his arms and, sure enough, he could feel the man still breathing slightly. Cade proceeded to run him back in the direction of the pod. When he was halfway back, though, he felt something. A shifting feeling that ran all throughout his body, leaving him with a sinking feeling that something had happened. But what? Cade looked down at his master in his arms and suddenly stopped running. He laid Wolf down carefully and checked the man's pulse about half a dozen times before coming to his conclusion. Wolf Sazen was dead.
