Six weeks later...
"To the left" Rebecca said as she sat on the apron of the ring at Black & Brave
"You said to the right literally five seconds ago" Nick stated
"and now I'm saying left" she said
"Just listen to her, she's been awfully snippy today" Josh said and Nick rolled his eyes
"Perfect!" she exclaimed
"It's a banner Rebecca, I don't think he's gonna care that much" Nick shook his head as he put a thumbtack into the wall to hold the banner
"It is a birthday banner and he's going to love it" she said as she ran a hand over her stomach and her face twisted up in discomfort
"You good?" Josh questioned and she could see concern written all over his face and she nodded
"I'm fine" she nodded "She's just restless" she stated
"I want the kid to be born tomorrow" Nick said and Rebecca's eyes widened
"I'm only 36 weeks.. she's still got another 4 weeks to go" she said with a shake of her head
"And why exactly do you want the kid to share a birthday with her father?" Josh asked
"Because the kid will share a birthday with her father, something he hates. He hates sharing his birthday with anyone"
"Can we stop calling her the kid?" Rebecca questioned "She has a name"
"Fine, Regan whatever" Nick shrugged
"Riley!" Rebecca glared "her name is Riley"
"Well whatever it is doesn't matter, I'm gonna continue to call her lil Lopez her entire life" Nick stated as he walked away
"Are you getting the cake?" she asked and he waved her off with his hand
"Relax!" Josh said as he walked over to her "Its just a party" he shook his head "It'll be fine"
"Its not just a party, this is the last time that it's just going to be just something he and I can do together before Riley is here. Plus not to mention, Holly said that Colby really didn't have birthday parties growing up because he thought he was too cool for them"
"Of course he did" Josh rolled his eyes
Rebecca went home to get Colby, he had spent the day with his mother because she needed help moving things around her home.
"How was today with your mom?" she asked as Colby pulled the clean shirt over his head
"She made me move a filing cabinet, four times" he said unamused and she laughed
"Did she finally decide where she wanted to put it?"
"Yes.. it was moved and then moved again and moved two more times and guess what? It's in the same spot as it was in the beginning"
She managed to get him in the car, luckily it was class night so he was none the wiser.
They walked into the academy that was pitch dark and Colby looked at his wife confused, Josh and Nick were supposed to be there, they knew they had class tonight.
She turned the light on and everyone jumped out of hiding
"SURPRISE!" they all exclaimed and Colby automatically went into protective mode, pushing his wife behind him slightly before he realized that they weren't being ambushed
"Happy Birthday" she smiled up at him "Well.. day early birthday but same thing" she smiled
"You did this?" he questioned and she nodded
"We helped!" Nick exclaimed "She wouldn't decide where to put this stupid banner" he groaned
"I love the banner" Colby smiled down at his wife
"Told ya!" Rebecca stuck her tongue out at her friend with a smirk
A few hours into the party, Rebecca disappeared into the office for a few minutes and nobody knew the difference. Colby was so caught up in talking to friends he hadn't seen in forever and Nick was too drunk to notice.
However there was one person that did notice and he followed after her when she didn't come out of the office after ten minutes.
"Hey.." Josh knocked on the door and he saw his friend gripping the desk and she looked over at him with a small smile "You okay?" he asked as he walked over to her
"I need your help" she said as she grabbed onto his arm and the man looked at her with wide eyes
5 minutes later, Colby was looking around the gym for his wife, she had just been there, she couldn't have gotten far.
Josh walked up to him and pulled him from the group of friends he was talking to.
"Have you seen Rebecca?" Colby asked immediately
"Listen to me" Josh said "Keep your game face on and listen to me"
"You're freaking me out, where is my wife?"
"She's in the car"
"She's in the.." he shook his head confused "Why is she in the car?"
"Her water broke, she's in labor" he said and Josh saw his friend go pale
"Game face!" Josh said snapping his fingers in front of his friend "I'm going to keep talking to our friends like nothing is happening and you're going to go to your wife and take her to the hospital" he said handing him the car keys
Colby practically ran to the parking lot and to the car. As he climbed into the drivers seat, he saw his wife sitting in the passenger seat with a small smile on her face as her hand ran back and forth over her stomach
"Is it not too early for this?" he asked as soon as he got in the car
"I'm 37 weeks tomorrow" she said "I was exactly 37 weeks last time too" she stated and he nodded and she watched him take a deep breath "I'm sorry" she said quietly and he looked at her confused
"What? Why are you sorry?"
"We were in the middle of your birthday party"
"No no no" he shook his head as he grabbed her face in his hands "This.." he looked down at the bump "is the most important thing right now.." he said and she nodded
"let's go have a baby"
