Chapter 11

School's finally over! I'm standing with my new friends, outside the school, while waiting for my mom.
"What's your number?" Lilian asks me. She hands me her phone, so I can put it in. I finish, and hand it back to her. Carter, Ashtyn, and Blake, all have their phones out for me too. I punch my number in each, one at a time.
"What are your instagrams?" I ask them.
"Lilylovesuxo" Lilian replies.
"Ash.10_"
"OMG! I get it!" I say to Ashtyn, laughing.
"Yeah." she smiles at me slyly. I turn to look at Carter.
"Carterchase_17" he replies. He grins as I type it in my phone. From the impression I got earlier, I thought he was pretty mellow. But he's actualy a lot more like Blake.
"Blakeblaze1234" Blake says to me.
"Wow! So creative Blake!" I say to him, teasingly. He makes a face, before flashing me a lopsided grin. All of a sudden, Lilian screams.
"OMG I'm the first like!"
"No way!" Ashtyn exclaims. I check my feed, since I still have the app open anyways. Yep, HE just posted a pic. I like it quickly, and lock my phone, not bothering to close the app. Just then, my mom pulls up.
"Bye guys!" I say. Slinging my bag over one shoulder, and waving to them with my opposite hand.
"BYE!" Lilian yells, waving back. Carter and Ashtyn wave as well. Blake looks up from his phone, just as I climb in the front seat, and waves. I wave back to him, and my mom pulls away from the curb.
"New friends?" My mom asks, smiling at me.
"Yeah."
"How did you meet them?"
"Its a long story!" I say. She doesn't reply, just smiles, and focuses on the road. Sam, and Callum are already in the car. My mom's new job has her with pretty flexible hours, so she's usually able to drive us around. It's nice, because before we moved, we barely ever saw her, she was always working. I stare out the window, absent-mindedly fiddling with the ringer on my phone. So when it goes off a few minutes later, it makes me jump in my seat.

Lilian: Heyyy! I made this iMessage chat, I hope you don't mind 😄

K: no its fine!😊

Carter: I'm here too!

Ashtyn: ditto

Blake: s'up?

K: haii

L: so what up?

K: nm, hbu?

C: I'm still stuck at school

B: I'm home

C: DOES THAT MEAN YOU HAVE FOOD?

B: maybe....

C: Not cool bro!

K: 😂

L: 😂

A: hey Carter, I have food too!

C: ugh, Ashtyn! Why you gotta be so rude?

B: "Don't you know I'm human tooooo" 🎤

K: guys stop, you're killing me! 😂

L: right!? 😂

My mom pulls the car into the driveway. I hear my sister take off her seat belt. I lock my phone, and take off my own seatbelt. I grab my backpack and climb out if the car. I hurry upstairs to my room, barely pausing to kick off my shoes. I sit down on my bed. There's a few messages in the group chat.

C: okay guys, I finally made it home! Which means, time for food! 🍕

B: bro, even I don't love food that much

C: maybe that's because you don't have the appreciation I do for it!

A: come on Blake, you know you want it....🍕

L: where's Katie?

K: here! Just got home thats all
K: so I can have food too 😂

L: Same! 😂
