Time seemed to slow for a moment as the older male crumpled to the floor. Ophelia was frozen with fear, her heart pounding in her ears. Had that really just happened? Ryder had really shot him. She began to tremble, turning to run into the back. Before she could move a second shot rang out and she dropped to the floor, protecting her head with her arms.

She had seen this kind of thing happen in movies but she never thought it would happen to her. The only rational thing to do would be to contact the police but where she was, he wouldn't let that happen. He would shoot her before she could press the first number.

It was silent for a minute as remained still, not moving in the slightest. She heard Ryder take a few steps before his voice called out. "Ophelia stand up." He demanded, his voice radiating dominance.

Normally such a tone would have her slipping into her little space but not now. She was terrified.

Ophelia slowly moved her hands from her head, shifting so that she was sitting up but still hidden behind the counter. There had to be a way out of this. She could run for the back but with Ryder's size he would have no problem catching up to her. She could also try and sneak around the booths to the right of her but that would take too long, he'd have her by then too. Glancing over to the kitchen door, she decided running was her best option.

She took a breath before launching herself towards the back, standing up fully to take off towards the back door. She could hear Ryder following quickly after her, knocking a few pots off the counter in his way.

It took a matter of three seconds before she was rushing through the back door, sprinting into the alleyway. She had never run this fast in her life before her legs burning from the effort of moving so quickly. Even with her speed she could hear Ryder approaching even faster.

A moment later arms were latching around her waist, lifting her off her feet. She screamed, beginning to thrash in the male's hold. He kept a firm grip around her waist, holding his other hand clamped over her mouth to muffle her screaming.

"Cálmate, niña." He muttered into her ear, groaning heavily when she landed a kick to his inner thigh.

A low growl sounded from his throat making her freeze instantly. This man was something else completely. She couldn't understand the power he held over her, yet here she was, letting him drag her around the building to his car.

He swung the back door open and roughly pushed her inside, slamming the door shut behind her. She moved to slip out the opposite side but was unsuccessful when he hit the lock botton, using his key to unlock the drivers door.

Upon entering the car Ryder turned in his seat to look back at her, his eyes dark and cold. "You are going to sit there and you're not going to cause any problems, am I understood?" He asked, in a demanding demeanor.

Ophelia nodded silently with wide eyes, earning a loud sigh before he put the key into the ignition and sped off.

She moved to press herself against the floor farthest from Ryder, slowly and carefully pulling the handle for the door. As expected, he had put the child locks on and the door remained closed.

Tears welled up in her eyes and she bit down on her lip to keep them at bay. Letting her emotions get the better of her wasn't going to help her situation in the slightest. She would have to think smart, quick.

Ophelia looked forward and caught Ryder's gaze in the rearview mirror. He was looking at her with sympathy, his eyes softening just a bit. "What do you want from me?" She whispered, curling her fingers around the door handle again.

He frowned, his eyes turning cold once again. "I can't let you go. You would have my face all over the city in no time." He told her, heading out of city.

She looked back and watched as the buildings grew smaller the farther away they got. Her fear was beginning to grow the more the city shrunk away. He was brining hee father away from civilization. No one would even think to look for her out here. There would be no reason too, they were in the middle of no where.

He turned down a dark dirt road that led into the trees, turning on his brights to guide the way. It wasn't long before lights began to show up ahead, a building coming into view. A large house sat in the clearing, the front portion of the building mostly glass. She could see a few people wandering about inside.

Ryder pushed a button above his seat and the garage door lifted open, allowing him to pull in. He pressed it again once the car had pulled inside, getting out of the vehicle.

Almost immediately a tall brunette came rushing into the garage, a hopeful look on her face. As soon as she saw Ophelia she grew angry, facing Ryder as he came around the vehicle. She began to yell at him in what Ophelia could only guess to be Spanish. "¿que estabas pensando? ¡Te dije que no lo hicieras en un lugar público! ¡No puedes secuestrar a personas así! ¿Qué se supone que debemos hacer con ella?" She yelled, pointing a finger straight at Ryder.

He simply gave her a pointed look, pressing the button to unlock the car. He didn't say anything, instead pushing past her to head into the house.

The girl quickly pulled open Ophelia's door, offering her hand out to the smaller girl. "Its alright, I'm not gonna hurt you and I won't let him hurt you either." She said softly, her voice thick with a spanish accent.

"My name is Anastasia." She told her, helping Ophelia to climb out of the car. "No one here is going to hurt you. I know what you witnessed must of been horrifying but no one is going to hurt you."

Anastasia was taller than Ophelia, the smaller girl standing at 5'2, but she still wasn't nearly as tall as Ryder. Her hair fell into soft waves around her shoulders, her eyes kind and concerned. Ophelia didn't know what to expect but she was beginning to think that escaping would be easier than she originally guessed.

She was led into the house where three others were lazing about, spread out around the kitchen. There were two males, similar to Ryder's build, but one of them was blonde. The other was a girl, about Ophelia's height, gazing at her with calculating eyes.

"Let's get you into something more comfort, ¿Si?" Anastasia murmured, putting an arm around Ophelia's shoulder.

The small girl was still in shock, not uttering a word but instead letting the brunette lead her further into the house. She was brought down a long hallway, doors lining both walls all the way down. At the end of the hall was a single door and Ryder was there, arms crossed over his chest, watching the two girls approach.

Anastasia sent him a glare, pushing open the door to her right, ushering Ophelia inside. As she entered the room she caught Ryder's eyes for a split second. He was deep in thought, his lips pressed together and his jaw clenched. She decided then that no matter the kindness of the girl next to her, she was getting away from here as quickly as she could.
