The two of them were friends for a long while, And (Y/N) hasn't changed a bit during their friendship. She was always so upbeat, so flirty, she seemed identical to Aloha too, which unlike Aloha, She wasn't too obnoxious. When Mask met her, He seemed annoyed at her most of the time, which scared (Y/N) a bit, causing her to drop her flirty act. She was genuinely worried about Mask sometimes. After talking it out with him, the two started getting along much better. Both would play games with each other, even at late hours.
Speaking of, It's about 1 AM right now. (Y/N) was doing some skincare before planning on looking up some strategies for certain maps like The Reef, Snapper canal, Skipper Pavillion, etc. While the girl was gently applying some face cleanser on her skin, She heard her phone buzz. "Oh!" Her ears perked up at this, causing her to pause her self care moment before picking up the phone. "Helloooo?" She greeted from the phone.
"H-Heeey, (Y/N)." Mask spoke from the phone.
"Oh! Hey, Masky!~" His good friend responded with, making him slightly blush. That nickname has him weak sometimes. "Did you already miss me or something?" He heard her teasing him. He shook his head before regaining his composure, "No. I mean, Yes. Cooood, (Y/N), You know what I mean!.." He protested.
The (I/C) squid giggled, "I got you there! Anyways, What's up?" She asked as she grabbed her phone with her to the bathroom so she could still talk to Mask while continuing her skincare routine. "Weeeell, You know the game Squid Crossers? The one you were excited abouuut? I bought it too a while ago. I unlocked Multiplayer three days ago so I was wondering if youu wanted to plaaay it.." The boy asked, he was fiddling with his own clothes.
"Oh my gosh, You bought squid crossers?! Aaaaa!" Mask could hear the girl's squealing. She always loved that game, when she heard a new one was going to be made for the Nintendo Switch, she was absolutely ecstatic and couldn't stop talking to Mask about it. Which.. Was the main reason why he bought it. After watching numerous gameplay videos, trailers and teasers for it, He gave in. Such a cute game eventually got him into buying it.
"I'll gladly play with you! Lemme put away my lotion and stuff. I was doing some self care before you called." The flirty Inkling exclaimed as she could be heard stuffing things back into a drawer. She stretched before turning on the camera of the call, displaying her own face. "So! Do I look fresh enough?" She asked her good friend. "...Uh.. Y-Yes." Mask answered. "Whaaat? Couldn't hear you!" Earning a playful wink from her. "Y-Yeees!.. Cod, Can we just play the game already?"
"I was messing with you hun." A chuckle came from her mouth, "I'll boot up the game, Do you need any tool recipes on the game? I can give you a vaulting pole, ladder and some fruit too!~" She sang. "I've already unlocked the vaulting pole but I couuuuld use a ladder. Fruit too.." Mumbled the Carbon Roller user. "Okay! Open your gates, I'm coming to your island!" She spoke. "W-Wait, My island?.. It's not t-that good yet. It looooks.. Crappy." Mask sighed. "Hey, that's okay! No worries.~" his crush responded.
When (Y/N) arrived on Mask's island, She gave him a ladder and some of her native fruits. "Hey, For someone getting the game 4 days ago, Your island is pretty cute! Much like you.~" Mask could've sworn she was smiling cheekily behind that screen. This of course earned Mask a red blush on his face. "..T-Thaaanks."
"Aww, Is Masky flustered?"
"..."
"Haha, Sorry. Wanna head to my island?"
"S-Sure.."
"Got it! You'll love it there, just as much as.."
He couldn't hear that last part. Damn.
"What'd you saaay?" He asked as he raised a brow.
"Hm? Noothing. Gates are open, Come on!" She huffed. Mask sighed in response and arrived at (Y/N)'s island. Damn, It was almost fully decorated. It looks like she went for a modern city look, which, she succeeded in. "Your island is.. Breathtaking." He breathed. "Haha, Thanks! I knew you'd like it. Wanna visit my museum? There are so many cool spots to take pictures in! I wanna take some with your avatar and mine, they both look so cute together just like you and I!~" She let out a gentle chuckle. As they arrived in the museum, in-game at least, (Y/N) showed him around her collection of fossils and fish. She also led him to a few spots where they could take really nice pictures. "Come on, Mask, I know you have the smile emote! You just don't want your avatar to smile, do you?" (Y/N) huffed impatiently. "Come on, Smile for the cameraaaa!!" She whined over the phone.
"No."
"Dammit!" (Y/N) crossed her arms. "Sheesh, Masky. You're stubborn, You know that? Whatever, I'm going to sleep!" She yawned. "Wait, R-Right now?!.." Mask sweat, "If that's the caaase I'll hang up." He continued, slightly sounding disappointed. "Hm? You can just stay here you know? You can just leave the call on and sleep too ya know? I still have my camera on, Buuuut.. I figured you'd want to look at my pretty face, So I'm leaving it on, and because I'm super lazy." (Y/N) Yawned once more, "Goodnight Masky. I love the look of my island just as much as I love you.~" She closed her eyes and rested her head on a pillow. "W-Wh—" Mask stuttered but got cut off by the girl who he was calling with, "Go to bed, Masky. It's almost 2 AM. We played for like, an hour." And with that, (Y/N) peacefully drifted off to sleep. Mask sighed and looked at the clock, it was 2 AM.. He let his avatar on Squid Crossers smile using the smile emote before Mask went to sleep.
The two avatars on screen, leaned on each other and fell asleep themselves.
