Chapter 19

" why in the world would you just leave like that!? Without telling me!? Keeping this a secret from me!?" 47 wasn't happy about this at all. She was furious, and felt a bit betrayed, but then again, she understood why they hadn't invited her to join them...
But that didn't make it any less painful.
" you we're injured! I couldn't let you get hurt again when you already had to recover from your last ones!" Lloyd replies.
" but you yourself got injured! Seriously Lloyd!? Your arm is almost broken! You're lucky it's not!" Without another word, she lays her warm hands into his damaged arm.
It had been a while since she had used her powers, and it hasn't been as strong as they had once been when she healed Kai two years ago, but it would help... it would heal his arm a little.
Lloyd went quiet as well. He really didn't like to fight with her...
47 closed her eyes and calmed herself down. Slowly, her hands started to glow, and Lloyd could feel waves of warmth enter his body. She was incredible..
" you're getting better at this" Lloyd watches. This sure made the pain go away, or at least most of it.
" I've been practicing.." she shyly smiles, now removing her hands. " how's Cole..?" Lloyd asked. He hadn't seen him after they had returned to the base. In fact, he hasn't seen anyone else but his father and Wu, who wasn't really happy about their secret advantage either.
" he's fine, but he has to be spending some days in bed so his bones can heal properly... he was very lucky you know... a normal person wouldn't have survived a fall like that, and if they did, then they would probably be paralyzed." She finally removed her hands and turned to face Lloyd.
" the pink haired girl told me that Cole took the fall for the two of them... he saved her." She told him and this was surprising to Lloyd, but also the right thing to do.
" well... shes working with us... she's actually the one who informed us about Kai's safety and about the tomb of fire.. I guess whoever she worked with, wasn't as good as she had thought..." Lloyd replies.
47 quietly nods.
" I don't recognize her from when I was held captured there, but I believe there were people who wasn't really happy about how the X Squadron has turned out to be... and according to this girl... it used to be better.."
Lloyd slowly nods. Yeah, he probably should talk with her... she contains a whole gold mine of information.
Lloyd then finally stands up from where he was sitting and stretches out his damaged arm to check it out. It still hurt a bit, but it felt almost as good as new.
" thank you (Your/mane)... you truly are incredible" Lloyd tells her and plants a shy kiss on her forehead. A blush crossed her face, but she doesn't move her eyes off him...
" just... don't leave me behind next time.. okay?" She replies. Lloyd quietly looks away. He didn't want to put her in more danger, and to top it all... she had to recover from her old wounds.
" Lloyd please..." 47 gained his attention again.
" I will think about it alright? You're not coming with me until you at least have recovered from your old injuries" he tells her.
" that won't be a problem. I'm already better and your father has been training me!"
This made Lloyd almost stumble when he was walking towards the door. Had he heard her right? Was she really telling him that his father had been training her!?
" my father is what!?" Lloyd bursts out, not thinking straight. He didn't mean to sound rude or anything, but this was unusual.
" what's so weird about that!? If I'm joining you guys on missions, I need to be able to keep up with you!" She defends herself, following Lloyd out of the room.
" no no, I didn't mean to sound rude.. it's just that I didn't expect to hear that" Lloyd explains, leading the two of them towards the living room.
" why not? Is it unusual for master Garmadon to train anyone?" 47 couldn't help but ask. By the look of Lloyd, it almost seems like she had done something impossible.
" no... I mean... to him, you're a total stranger. He doesn't know you, so I'm just surprised that the two of you get along so well" Lloyd explains, now reaching out for the door handle to the living room.
" well... I guess you're right.. but I don't think he considers me a stranger... more like Armen's and Damon's long lost sister, and your lost best friend who has returned." It sounded weird to put it that way, but it was kinda true. She felt more welcomed by them than any other people that she had met past these two long years of travel.
" well I'm happy.." before Lloyd could finish his sentence, the door in front of them flew open and Jey stood in the door, grinning up at the two of them.
" Cole is awake! And he's actually feeling a lot better! Lloyd! How's your arm!" Before he got to answer, Jey warped both his arms around Lloyd and hugged him. It was hard to admit, but Jey has been so worried about them.
" Jey!? Yeah I'm good! Calm down now" Lloyd couldn't help but laugh a little. He remembers when they were in the opposite situation two years ago, when Jey had gotten poisoned by the serpents. they had thought Jey wasn't going to live, but luckily, thanks to his powers, he had managed to save his life.
" I'm just happy everything went well... and I just have to warn you.. sensei Wu isn't in a very good mood... we told him everything.. about the tombs and the battle with Morro.. I think you should explain your side of the story too.." Jey tells him, allowing 47 and Lloyd to enter the living room. Zane and Nya where already there.
" at the moment, Wu is interrogating the X Squadron agent.. or Seliel, that being her name... and your father is out in the dojo.. I think he wants us to join him.." Jey was unsure about the last part. They hadn't received any orders, but for some strange reason, they felt like he was waiting for them to join him.
" I guess we should join him then... if we're to late, it may start raining, and I honestly don't want to get sick right now" Lloyd carefully joked and walks along side Jey into the living room.
" I'm ready to go.. are you?" Nya joins them.
" ready? I don't think so, but let's just get over with it.." Lloyd replies, and together, they silently walks outside to the training grounds where Zane was already waiting for them. Garmadon was there too... but he was silently meditating.
Quietly, they all entered, including 47 , and carefully went down into their knees, facing their master. They all knew what was coming... they all knew he was disappointed and not happy about what had happened.
" took you long enough..." Garmadon speaks, not moving from his current location.
" sorry master... very sorry.." Nya replies, unsure of what to say next. They all felt guilty, but then again, they hadn't exactly gotten anyone killed, except bringing Kai back.
The sun had already settled, and some few stars were appearing into the dark skies. Lloyd realizes he must have been knocked out for almost a day if it was already this late.
" I don't know what to say.. I'm truly disappointed in you team... but then again confused... why wouldn't you tell us anything? Why not trust us with the truth?" Garmadon opens his eyes and looks at each one of them. This of course not including 47 who was sitting next to Lloyd, quietly.
" we.... we didn't want to badger you master... and we honestly didn't know if we should have trusted you with this or not... you have never told us anything about the elemental toms.." Zane replies.
Garmadon's eyes slowly widen.
" the tombs you say...? So it has come to this at last... of course... of course it would.." Garmadon mumbles to himself. He hadn't heard these words in almost 18 years and now the old legend has come back to life...
" dad...? What are you not telling us...? Why haven't you mentioned the elemental tombs before?" It was Lloyd's turn to ask questions now, and he couldn't help but notice how uncomfortable it made his farther.
" I'm ashamed to tell you that I used to hunt down elemental masters when I was serving the dark lord, before I married your mother, and before I knew what true love was..." Garmadon confesses and slowly stands up from his seat at a stone.
" y..you did what... why? Was it to help the dark lord unite his world with ours...?" Jay shoots in, not able to control himself.
" yes... I was doing it to bring the darkness from the underworld up to this world... to create a war... but I realized how it was going to destroy everything, and that In the end... there would only be darkness if it won..."

" and that is something you guys should continue to prevent from happening" a shadow stood on top of the stone wall behind them, almost hidden by the shadows around the unknown figure.
The ninjas quickly got to their feet at the sound of his sudden appearance.
" who are you!" 47 holds out her sword, pointing it towards the unknown figure before them, ready to strike if necessary. But the figure just puts his hands up in surrender, not interested in picking a fight with them.
" I'm just a messenger... I believe you guys know him as the master of fire.."
This was something they hadn't expected, and slowly, 47 lowered her weapon, focusing her eyes on the target ahead.
" Kai...?" Nya steeps forward towards whoever this guy was. She knew he wasn't her brother, but if Kai trusted this person to deliver a message to them, then he wasn't going to hurt them at all.
" yes, I believe that is his name. Hes fine and he sent me here to tell you to keep this safe as good as you can, because the world may depend on it.." without another word, the x squadron agent holds up something and throws it in their direction. Nya who was closest, took the unknown object it her hands and studied it.
" a dagger...?" She questions him and looks up. This confused her, but Garmadon recognized it right away.
" an elemental key..." Garmadon mumbles and looks up at the young agent, watching him carefully. There was something about him.. he wasn't sure why or what but..... he then spots the bracelet on his wrist.
" keep it safe, or the world will fall into darkness"
Lloyd wanted to call out, grab him or make him stay, but before he even managed to do so, the figure disappears into the shadows of the night, disappearing.
" who was that!?" Jey bursts out, walking over to Nya who was holding onto an old dagger carved with old markings.
" that... I didn't know... but Kai has actually given us an advantage..." Garmadon takes the dagger from Nya and holds it up for the others to see.
" this dagger... is the third key to open the gateway to the underworld... if they don't have this, then they can't open it"
This of course was good news, but Lloyd noticed the sad expression on his father's face. Something wasn't right, and he knew it had something to do with his past with the dark lord, what else could it be...?
