I remember everything about the night my parents died.

I remember waking up to the blood-curling screams of my mother, and the smell of wet dog in the air.

I remember walking downstairs and finding my mother dragging her body towards the stairs, leaving a trail of blood behind her.

I remember her telling me to run and I did. I hid in the dryer, too scared to do anything else.

I remember listening to my father shout and the sound of growling.

I remember waking up the next morning only to find my father ripped apart and my mother laying on the stairs, dead, her eyes and mouth wide open.

I remember seeing the bloody paw prints leading up to the bathroom.

I remember pushing open the door and seeing a tall man standing there, blood covering his arms and face, as he patched up a cut on his side.

I remember him turning to look at me with shock written across his face.

I remember how he crouched down and said, "It's nothing personal kid." Then a huge black wolf replacing the large man and it ran from the house.

I remember everything about that night and I promised myself I would never forget.
