A/N - Okay so if any of you wonderful people read that really long Author's Note in "The Passing Of Time" first of all you're great and second of all a thing happened! They broke up...AND HE FREAKING TEXTED ME AND STARTED FLIRTING AND I DON'T THINK I CAN HANDLE MYSELF RIGHT NOW! 

Autumn's POV 

                "Alby!" I yelled through the Homestead, "Alby he shucking got away!" I stared out the open window after Ben. Ben had been stung and I had been asked to watch him seeing as I was the only one who knew what he had been through that wasn't a complete slinthead. "Shuck." I muttered under my breath, jumping out of the open window after him. He was running at full sprint, a little haphazardly but it was still fast...he was a Runner after all. But then again, so was I. I watched as he flung himself into the trees, the leaves seemed to envelope his body and carry him away. I tore through the air after him, picking up speed with each step. I noticed out of the corner of my eye Alby; holding a massive crossbow. I shook the thought away. Surely he wouldn't shoot Ben. 

        I reached the edge of the trees, staring into the familiar darkness I hesitated slightly before running forwards. The air immediately dropped about ten degrees and a chill shook my body. I jumped over a log, following the carnage of broken sticks and upturned leaves that Ben left. I ran for maybe a minute when the trail ended. I had lost him! I sucked in a deep breath, not from exhaustion but from frustration and turned in a full circle. How could that shuckface have gotten away so fast? The trail just ended, it made no logical sense whatsoever! After a moment of useless pondering I turned back, having to focus on the dark ground to see where I was going. 

        The crunching twigs weren't the only audible thing anymore. A shriek ripped through the air. I whipped my head around, hair standing out bright like a hunting vest against the dark plants. It came from deep inside the forest, around the graveyard area I'm guessing. How did he get there? The trail ends! I pushed the thought aside and started sprinting in the direction of the now increasing screams. I started hearing words, some yelled, some spoken normally and something else completely inhuman. 

        "Bad, bad, bad, bad, bad..." I breathed in the air, flying through the trees. There were more words but I couldn't make any out. I was so close, the trees began thinning out into the graveyard just up ahead. 

          I reached the clearing and everything happened. Alby shouted "Three!" and he released a shucking arrow! And it hit it's target... I watched horrified as Ben's head jerked violently to the left, the momentum twisted him until he was left laying on his stomach, blood seeping out of his face. I stumbled back until my back hit a tree. I saw the arrow, the long shaft protruded from the boy's cheek, his face had drained and his eyes were shut. Oh my god...is he dead? My breath quickened and I felt my heart beat under my chest. 

        Thomas got to his feet, he looked just as shaken up as me. 

        "Come on, Baggers'll take care of him tomorrow." It was Alby who spoke. He had a cold, unforgiving look on his face and the crossbow — murder weapon, in hand. I looked away, expecting tears...none came. I slid down the tree, rough bark digging into my back. But I wouldn't look at Alby, or Thomas. The only way I knew they were still here were the sounds of Thomas's retching. I shuddered. 

        I don't know how long I sat there, probably longer than I should have... I just couldn't shake the thought of Alby. He killed him. He shot an arrow in his head. Ben is dead. Ben is dead. Ben's body is only a few feet away from me. I shuddered again, this time it was not out of disgust or sadness but of anger. I was angry at Alby. How could he have done that?! Would he do that to anyone? Would he have done it to me... 

A/N - So I'm really sorry that this was so short and sucky but I literally can't even think straight. And not just cause someone flirted with me but because someone I've liked for FOUR YEARS flirted with me and idek I'm just freaking out because of so many reasons. SOMEONE TALK TO ME! PLEASEEEE!
